Question (re: citizen suits against federal government)
Bear with me. I'm trying to describe something I'm certain I've seen mentioned here on DU. I didn't pay enough attention at the time to remember the details, but apparently there is a legal provision that allows citizens to sue the government for financial reward when a federal agency violates its own regulations.
I seem to recall this mentioned at least once here in regard to a whistleblower case. I vaguely recall that it may have an arconym like ARISA, although that's probably wrong because a Google search comes up empty. It could be something very different.
Thanks. I think that is the "ARISA" I was thinking of, but I obviously still have my signals crossed. ERISA is not applicable to the case I'm looking at. I thought I had read of some statute that allows whistleblowers to sue the government for its wrong-doings.
