6. Actually, yes; I know some...
They claim they voted for Ronnie twice, and most voted for Poppy in '88--and several for Dub last time--so I'd say they qualified pretty solidly. HOWEVER...a few of them are going to be voting against Dub this year, too!:D

Proving what? Why, that we've got a REAL SHOT, that's what!:kick:

B-)

They're called 'Republicans'.

Seriously, though, those votes are gone -- they haven't voted Democratic since the Democratic party became identified with civil rights, and unless the Democratic party ceases to be identified with civil rights, they're not coming back.

In order to be a Reagan Democrat, you have to be a person willing to consistently vote against your self-interest in exchange for a mess of symbolic pottage.

9. Yes, me
I voted for reagan in 1984. It was a terrible mistake. I am very
sorry, and am now a registered Dem, looking forward to ousting shrub
at the earliest convenience.

I was a repuke, though i did not vote between 1984 and this coming
poll. My politics changed after a heavy does of real life in america. You could say by that, that i was never really a republican, and perhaps you're right. In my late teenage years, i
was exposed to lotsa miltary propaganda, and myself registered with
the selective service to potentially be sent in to Beruit, where
people i had known died in that US sponsored civil war mess.

By that standard, i am no democrat either. And even now i've a real
issue with the party not actively opposing gerrymandering, <any> WAR, disenfranchisement and the drugs war. In that sense, i'm not
really
voting "for" a democrat, but against a terrible evil. I hope that
democrat can do some good when he wins.

14. I voted for Reagan his first term but not the second
I was totally disillusioned with the way Carter was governing. Especially the way he handled the Iran Crisis. I was wrong and am willing to admit it unlike a Republican. I still don't label myself a Democrat though. I am and always have been an independent.
