Ben Nighthorse-Campbell is not running for the Senate!!!
He's our turncoat Repub senator in Colorado and he's decided not to run for reelection. It was just reported on our local news on the ABC affiliate.

He states it's for health reason and to spend more time with the family. He recently had a bout with prostate cancer. Also, he went to the hospital with chest pains the other day. They reported that this was not a heart problem but turned out to be severe acid reflux.

1. ugh
I had to go to the emergency room myself this past summer with that very same problem.

*back to subject*

How are prospects in Colorado for a Dem to reclaim that seat?

Both Udall and Hart had decided not to run, but given this news, I wonder if either of them could be convinced...

10. Udall, Webb and Owens are being mentioned
Owens - oof and a big e-e-e-w-w-w! I want to know why his marriage broke up. No fair keeping it the deep and buried secret. If Hart had to live with humiliation, so can Owens. Face the music Owens, should you deciode to run!

Webb? I dunno. He doesn't excite me but I'd vote for him for sure. He's popular in Denver but statewide I don't think he'd make it to the finish line.

I'm embarrased to say that I don't know much about Udall. Hart would be my first choice. All that experience co-chairing the commisson on terrorism all these years. Time passes and we've moved on from the hanky-panky days. He's too valuable to the nation to be tossed on the ash heap.

12. 2 Dems now running. Caucus on Apr 13th.
Edited on Wed Mar-03-04 03:45 PM by Touchdown
First up... Millionaire Rutt Bridges. Software developer and Think Tank founder. He wanted to do away with Co.'s caucus system a few years ago. He's getting himself on the ticket by petition.

Second... Mike Miles. School Administrator, and not a millionaire, but is doing it by the caucus system.

And now...NO REPUGS! A Colorado first!:bounce:

Edited to add link...

14. Who the heck are they?
Thanks for posting the link. I read all their webpages, and ...... aaarrggghhhh, this gets soooo tiresome.. they all sound alike. Most don't even really say anything about issues. I feel tired, just thinking about trying to figure out who is who.

So far, the one who seems to actually sound the closest to being liberal or progressive is Johnson. However, the fact that he was previously a Republican doesn't sit too well with me.

I'm tired.

Thanks again for the link.

Kanary
