What accounts for more hatred of America overseas, US policies or jealousy because America is the world's only superpower and controls half the world's wealth despite constituting only 5% of the world population?

1. Oh it is how we act.
We are not so special as people, most of our luck, comes from where we were born. The land is rich, we did not have to worry much about people from the North, and controlled the people in the South, and took over the Indians. Their was not fight but more 'buying' the land. so to speak. Then the people who came here were the middle class, no serfs and no nobles, so we all worked and hard. Slaves were a big help for a while but a bad way to do business. So in a country of rich things to us, with endless people willing to work it and a pretty good set of laws from England that we used, we have been darn lucky. Now our wars and greed may undo it. The large pool of genes to pick from may also go, with what we are doing now. God did not look on us but a place in the world and time did.I think you would find we made things work and others really thought up the stuff. It is a pity so many in this country think they are Gods special people. It will be our down fall I am sure. You live on what you do as a general thing.

2. Can you explain this?
You made several very good points, by the way.

"The large pool of genes to pick from may also go, with what we are doing now."

What do you mean by this? Genetic engineering?

5. No we had people from all over to marry with. And.....
we took from all these people the best for the times we lived in. Our best may have been Jazz and look how we got that. It took us all. Blacks, history of Western Music, the openness of the Fr in La. and their history, Mixed people, and a general way of life here. As with the laws. The English settled first and set up their laws and either stayed or moved on but left their laws.(All but La)It may be genetic engineering but it is a natural one where you breed with the people around you.I do not look down on this but think it is great.

6. The middle class had the gene pool and if we have only
rich and poor they will not inter marry. More like the England of old with a small group of ruling families marry with each other and the poor not being able to get out of that slot.

3. Policy.
People overseas, in fact any group anywhere, consider themselves far superior to other people, other groups. That simply goes without saying.

We always seem to be shocked by that.

4. Policy. Europe is almost as prosperous as we are and
you don't see nearly that level of hatred with regards to Europe. And when's the last time someone burned a Canadian flag?

9. i can remember...
when i was growing up in england and then brazil then travelling the world, that at first the world was grateful to the usa for its principal role in defeating hitler - then that turned to awe and some jealousy (but nothing hateful) It all started to go downhill in 68 with Vietnam, then the 70's with kissinger and poppa as head of cia instigating the thugs they had installed in Chile, Brazil, Argentina and on and on ... to massacre their citizens.
There is also another pheonoma going on the press wont talk about - approximate 25000 american citizens a year leave - these are educated and fairly affluent types who want their children to grow up in these hateful medieval times.
And.... there is on longer a flow of educated immigrants trying to get in to improve their lives - now its a flow of immigrants and refugess who in their situation because we put them in it. El Salvador etc...
