Should the police be policed by ... different police?

So, the local Vancouver cops are a bunch of crazies. And now because of numerous allegations of brutality. The RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted POlice) Are going to be investigating the department, instead of the internal affairs department of the VPD. Anyone think this will be done fairly? Any cops out there who want a say?

1. as a rule, I think the police

should be policed by citizens. They put up cameras down town here a few years ago. Someone wrote a letter to the newspaper saying they wouldn't mind cameras in public places if the public could have cameras in the police station.
