Congress Not Rushing Gay Marriage Ban

WASHINGTON - President Bush (news - web sites) wants quick election-year enactment of a constitutional amendment prohibiting gays from marrying each other, but Republicans in Congress are not rushing to heed his call.


Bush cant even get his troops in line over this issue.
I wonder if he realized how hateful this amendment is.
Ooops sorry brain fart here ... that would take
rational thought and we all know thats beyond shrub.

1. It is really hateful

I know alot of non religious republicans agree with how hateful it is.


I can't believe this guy feels it's a priority to decide that two persons who love eachother can't marry while we have trillion deficit and job loss

2. Because the real issue is deficit and jobs.

Isnt repubs for smaller government?So why do they push
about the right for two adult people to marry?
Im just confounded at that.
Im not saying that gay rights isnt an important issue.It is .
More now then ever.The thought of using an amendment to actively
discriminate gays makes me want to go postal.But to the republicans it would seem they are using gays to distract from their agenda.Yet another disservice they do to the gay community
