WOW...it was truly mind boggling call-ins....from the religiously-insane radical right wing of bush* supporters...ONLY bush* supporters were allowed to call-in

most said that the gay marriage issue is the ONLY issue for the upcoming elections, were disappointed that bush* hasn't yet stepped forward on this issue (but they would STILL vote for shrub)....

one woman said that if these ***** keep marrying, then the entire Apocolyse will be reigned down on OUR country...and if bush* doesn't step up SOON and stop this, our country will be destroyed by God....

it may be good for regular, normal Americans to hear these religiously-insane-radical-right-wing-NUTS who are running OUR country...perhaps people will wake up....

1. Wait to hear them about this new movie.
I have seen some pretty scary art done on this subject and I do not think I wish to see it in almost real life. We know his death was how they did it in those days and it could not have been pretty. I mean they did that to thousands or people every year. There are a lot of things like that I guess I will not miss seeing.

5. Mel still got the hands thing wrong.
People were crucified between the bones in the lower arms, just above the wrists.
The art is all wrong. Always has been.
Plus, I get stigmata at high elevations (Aspen and Mexico City). The lines in my palms bleed because of the pressure.

2. We need to start calling them 'bigots.'
That's what they are (as per their own statements and behavior). And that stupid-assed 'hate the sin/love the sinner' isn't in the Bible, either. More made-up crap to hide the fact that they're bigots.

3. If C-SPAN were around 200 years ago
Conservatives would call in and insist God would destroy us if we repealed slavery and God would destroy us if we allowed Women to vote. Please someone explain to me how keeping people who love each from marrying will maintain the sanctity of marriage.

4. I heard some of it
The callers sounded nuts. The Republicans would love to make a red-herring out of this. They need this diversion.

A few years back, the GOP blind-sided Clinton with a big "Gay's in the Military" meeting, when he first took office.

6. I can only hope they overstep
I'm hoping they go overboard on the bigotry and alienate a lot of people. Much like Pat Buchanan's speech in '92, which turned a lot of people off.

7. This sort of talk needs to be publicized.
It is ideal to have extreme bigots running the anti-gay opposition. Of course they are already--but the point is that the more they talk in this way, the better in a certain regard. People need to see their actual hate and venom, especially the youth, as an educational process.

9. Be Fair!
That had the two lines for "Big Issue" "Not Big Issue" and the calls were evenly split.

There were several calls from folks who said it wasn't a big issue because people should be allowed to marry whomever they wish.

So, it was not a bigot fest. Sure, there were troglodytes calling in, but it wasn't nonstop, and it wasn't single opinion. There were many contrary views.

Hey, when i hear a Republican voter who gets it, i'll give credit where credit is due. Now, that same person obviously doesn't get the big picture, or they wouldn't be a Bush voter anymore. But, there were lots of Repubs today who just wished this were a non-issue and the gov't should let the states do what they want to do.

11. true...one guy said they'd all get AIDS and DIE...on the 'not big

issue' line....IMO, it was pretty evenly split bigotry, with the main difference being whether their 'bigotry' was going to 'majorly' impact bush* re-selection coronation or whether their bigotry was not a 'big issue' for the upcoming elections....

they all seemed pretty confident that bush* will win, unless of course, GOD sends down an apocolypse because bush* isn't acting quick enough to arrest the criminals who are running all over and violating the law and 'we should bring in the National Guard right now to restore order in America...this thing is gonna spread if you don't contain it quickly'...

there was the guy comparing 'same-sex marriage' to the law-and-order issue of restoring order in UTAH, banning polygamy and upholding that....he said that we need to STOP these people now, we did in Utah, and if we allow this to continue even one more day, the republic will collapse...

there was the woman who almost broke into tears in her horror about so many 'sinners'...she had never known how many sinners were in America...and now....it was realy too much for her to bear....

10. and they say america was founded as a christian nation - wrong!

these people live inside their religions and never see or seldom experience actual, real life.

(about 20 yrs. ago in N.C. I met a Baptist woman who said she was not allowed to see her own nude body in a mirror or look upon other nude women, but she could see her brothers' when she was growing up. What a sad thing.)
