We all know that shrubbie's dad pulled strings to get him into the TANG as well as commissioned at a record pace. He also got into flight training with a very low score after which the Government (taxpayers) paid an estimated $1,000,000 to train him. Meanwhile some poor schmuck was sent to nam in his place.
We also know that later on he did not take his physical and lost his flight status. A question occurred to me, had he even completed flight training when he was grounded? Did he ever ONCE fly a mission and perform the duty for which we paid such a stiff price to train him for? Could not that money have been better spent on troops in the field or on someone who would actually at some point reward us with the talents we trained them for?
If you look at it this way, Clinton did more for the war effort than the boy king did because at least he did not leech resources away from more important priorities. Hell, if I paid a tenth of that cost to train an employee and then he "quit" I'd sue!! Essentially, bush* quit the job he was so expensively trained for.
Anyone know the timeline vis a vis his grounding and completion of flight school? Any pilots out there familiar with the process?
