1. hahahahahahah!
Novak says he'd love to see a Bush-Sharpton debate, and the winner gets to be President!

can you say Pay=per=view?

I'd pay HUGE bucks for that.

can you imagine how BAD Sharpton would make Bush look

2. Who said it?
Surely it didn't come "from the left" because I happen to like Carville & Begala.

6. sorry.....should have been clearer
the announcer did it as voiceover at beginning, with Daytona 500 background

so far Carville and the Kerry guy aren't doing too well; failing to fight back effectively; not mentioning all the AWOL info readily available to those who spend any time here

3. Novak...Slam One Day, Kiss Ass The Next
Wasn't it just last Thursday that the Prince Of Darkness was spreading his black voodoodoo all over the RoveCo machine for it's defecit spending and not cutting his taxes enough?

Looks like good old No-Facts is playing both side here, eh?

If Kerry doesn't carry the banner, it dies. It's that simple.

9. at some point this may be true, kdepending on the press
but, why doesn't the media do its job on this, exactly the way it CARRIED the pugs' banner four years ago, running like a mad dog with Love Canal, Love Story, etc.

they did no ANY digging at all on these bogus stories (indeed, being instrumental in CREATING disinfo in some cases), just spread the lies planted by the propaganda arm of the pugparty

they've done a minimum of reportage so far on this, but no investigative journalism, so far, even to the extent of checking into any detail what's been out there for five years now.

dem ops can do their part by keeping it alive, also by questioning Kerry and those close to him. they can respond that it's not in their interests to comment on Mr. Bush's problems, but to encourage him to release ALL his military records, as he's CATEGORICALLY PROMISED (he still hasn't), and to say that it's the MEDIA's job to look into stories like this, not the democratic campaign

10. I really don't believe people care.
Edited on Mon Feb-16-04 05:01 PM by YNGW
I know I don't

I vote my wallet, and this year national security will be an issue. What may or may not have happened 30 years ago doesn't put money in my wallet or keep me safe.

The question is: What have you done for me lately? Either I'm making money and feel safe or I don't. That's the summation of the average voter who hasn't already decided already.

11. nothing whatsoever to do with thirty years ago
that's how the pugs are trying to couch the debate

it has EVERYthing to do with the creep's credibility, both from the standpoint that he's been unwilling from the getgo to reveal the true nature/extent of his service, or lack thereof

constant backpedaling, obfuscation, parsing characterize not just this incident, but EVERY single aspect of his foul, illigitemate junta

not to mention the obvious hypocrisy of this jagoff's willingness to take the easy way out...and off....then have no compunction at all to put hundreds of thousands of US troops in harm's way, over a bunch of lies and trumped-up BS, transparently exaggerated/untrue from LONG before the invasion

18. What about "what lies have you told me lately"
Lies about Nat Guard
Lies about WMDs
Lies about Iraq & Al Queda
Lies about the budget & tax cuts

Who can feel safe with a liar in the WH?

Who can depend on an economy governed by a liar?

Did he say that ***** is a traitor for his VVAW activities?

This doofus deserves to get his ass reamed for his savaging of Kristina Vanden Huvel and others for the past couple years...what a condescending, arrogant ashhole.

12. Cliff May sucks.
He said something like 'Kerry got out early too", then kinda geared down to 'returned from Nam early'.

Carville countered with 'Yea, with three purple hearts'.

The POS May acts like he cannot tell the diff between a veteran wounded in action, with Bronze and Silver Stars, and the coward he works for.

Even he is not that dumb, just multi mendacious.

13. Xfire typifies the worst of the shoutfests
May, a fast talker on par with Ed "ScrewNose" Gillespie, always says it with a smile, as if contemplating his next GOP paycheck

he gets away with the most tremendous lies, elisions, exaggerations, distortions, and Carville, etal, usually let them go, or don't have decent factual bases for countering his scattershot sludge attacks

15. I've learned to look at
Crossfire as just entertainment. It seems that the person who says the most outrageous thing gets the most applause. If this show were a serious political debate, it wouldn't be there, and we'd be looking at more Paula Zahn or someone like her.

17. exactly my point
just like the insulting feminazi reference in the NYT book review of Pickles

as has been demonstrated through modern propaganda usage, from Goebbels (Leni Riefenstahl, anyone), to Deaver (see On Bended Knee on the effectiveness of image vs. word), to the kings of twisted media usage--current junta, repetition of message is the most important thing.....just getting their lie out in the first place accomplishes their first task.......repetition is their ultimate goal; freqency is its medium......contradictions fall by the wayside, and the handmaidens make sure that those are miniscule in comparison to the message being spread
