What issues does Bush have to run on?
Seriously. I ask conservatives in my political chatroom this and they always change the subject or come up blank. He has failed on every issue. Terrorism? Al quaeda and taliban are still in afghanistan and the Iraq war has only made the US more hated. Economy? Bush wanted a recession early on so he could push tax cuts and now the economy is leaking jobs like a sieve. Iraq? Its a disaster and getting worse every day. He has no issues to run on that I can think of.

9. Oh he will run on those things just remember everything he says is a lie
He LIES. People in America are stupid and believe him even though he has been proved to be a liar and not just on the Iraqi issue. Every single thing he said about his economic policy has been proven to be lies. Same thing with his environmental policies. Lies all of them Lies.

5. Second verse, same as the first...
God,
Gays,
Guns,

Worked last time. Remember, 'too close to call' is 'close enough to steal'.

Don't count on the economy, there are fify million voters in this country who will gladly live in a cardboard box if only Dear Leader saves them from the twin scourges of peace and gay marriage.

USA! USA! USA!

7. Great question . . . he'll run on one issue.
You can't trust a democrat to protect you from the terrorists. That's it. That's all he's got. You know and I know that his argument doesn't hold water. But, if you follow the polls, he has somehow convinced a majority of Americans that he is stronger on national defense than any democrat. If national defense is THE defining issue as some think it is, he may have a chance.

10. He's not Clinton
That's been the basis for his platform all along. The media attacked Clinton so relentlesly that 'not being Clinton' was enough to make the election close enough to steal (that and the disastrous choice of Gore picking a republican for VP)

MONKEY: "Its good that you ask me this, because the American People know that my uh, administration... is dedicated, to plunging pro... progress... to gaining growth by growing new jobs, by institutionalizing those effectives that can manage money better, because we got a saying in Crawford - when you put I before the issues, uh... you dilute the gravy. or something like that, you know what I mean. No further questions about the issues."

DICK: "This is a very popular President that I believe transcends the issues by projecting a mental clarity that really combines the best of Truman, Lincoln, and Jesus."

17. probably not
but as long as we keep Dick Morris in our collective hearts, we'll always have his whining. Always. And that's something that Tony Snow will never be able to take away from me.

Man, I picked a wrong week to stop drinking coffee.

He will use that massive amount of money and corporate partnership to shout down and destroy his opponent by whatever means necessary.

15. We have the edge on plenty of domestic issues
and have narrowed the gap on foreign policy. However, if we don't have a candidate who can withstand the Rovian smear machine and appeal to enough swing voters, Bush will certainly win.

18. Bush Has One Real Issue
FEAR!
***
Fear that the courts will give minorities (race and sexual orientation)the rights they deserve. Presidential appointment of judges.

Fear of terrorism. Bush will do anything to keep the public afraid. His recklessness is communicated as bravado.

21. I Would Not Run
Second terms, as Reagan and Clinton can tell you, tend to be disastrous. If Bush prevails in 2004, it will be the result of a campaign that sinks to new lows, and there will be such bitterness that he will be gnawed apart in the second term. He faces economic and national security challenges that he and the Republicans are not intellectually qualified to address, and his second term would be a nightmare for him and for us.

25. he doesn't need an issue
He'll lie that his "economic plan" is working and that the economy is good because the tax cuts have stimulated investment. The media will not challenge this assertion, but will provide a forum for a steady stream of junta spokespeople to continue spreading the lie.

He'll lie that conquering Iraq was justified and that the occupation is a success. The media will not challenge this assertion, but will provide a forum for a steady stream of junta spokespeople to continue spreading the lie.

He'll lie that the Middle East peace plan is ontrack. The media will not challenge this assertion, but will provide a forum for a steady stream of junta spokespeople to continue spreading the lie.

He'll lie that the nation has bever been more secure or more free. The media will not challenge this assertion, but will provide a forum for a steady stream of junta spokespeople to continue spreading the lie.

Meanwhile the media will spend at least 30 minutes of every broadcast hour telling us that the Democratic candidate is a liar, or an adulterer, or a bad dresser, or has bad breath.

The Murkan public will listen to the above for about 1 minute a week, get a pained, confused expression on their face, go get a savory snack food, plop down in the Barc-o-lounger and turn on the new Survivor. And come November 2004, they'll say they would have voted, honest, except that they had lots of other important stuff to do.

No worries. With rigged voting machines in half the country, the selection won't even be close this time.

Issues? Bushco don't need no steenking issues.
