DAYTONA BEACH, Florida (Reuters) - With President Bush attending the Daytona 500 on Sunday, spectators are bracing for the tightest security ever seen at the "Great American Race."

...All vehicles entering the infield will have undercarriages inspected by mirrors and bomb sniffing dogs while drivers will need photo identification to match credentials.

...With a presidential election looming, Bush will be in Daytona to court a new phenomenon being labeled the NASCAR-dad -- white, rural conservative southern men.

But most fans are unlikely to catch even a glimpse of Bush, who is expected to arrive on Air Force One just 40 minutes before the green flag (1830 GMT) and watch the race from a private box along the front straight.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - (KRT) - Bobby Labonte won't need God as his co-pilot this weekend. He will have Jesus on his hood. The hood of Labonte's No. 18 Chevrolet, normally sponsored by Interstate Batteries, will carry a promotion for the Mel Gibson movie ``The Passion of the Christ'' during Sunday's Daytona 500. It's a one-week deal that has given the team and the film a jolt of publicity.
