Frustrated political ramblings

Here is a rough draft of the politics in my head:

Conservatives are brainwashed into being against government as if it is the bearer of society's problems.
Well it is a problem only because people are apathetic don't vote, are uninvolved, and don't hold their elected officials accountable.

Most people get their news from mainstream sources which are controlled by a small group of monopolistic corporations which favor those who go easy on them. That would be the Republican politicians.

Alternative views, if allowed, could awaken the masses and then they could in turn hold their elected officials accountable....fat chance right?

The problem is not the size but the type of government. With less than half of registered voters voting and even less writing their representatives, the big business interests have moved in to buy our government from us. Then they control the airways to go on and on about the "benefits" of deregulating everything.

I will tell you that I view the government as our only hope, our only voice. Our only buffer of protection from dictatorial corporate monopolies that are ruining our environment, destroying free and fair markets, weakening safety laws, and lessening our redress of grievances in court, to name a few.

So many are brainwashed (like the Libertarians).
The media has done a stellar job at creating cynicism towards politics and lawyers. These are the 2 main groups that powerful interests fear most.
Where else can we the people have a say? Can we vote out a corporate exec who wants to drill in ANWR? NO!

I am so sick of the CON's negative brainwashing about "government" and attorneys.

Government is not "in the way", it is our best hope, through democracy, and our last thread of a voice.
