It's 2008, imagine this scenario: Giuliani vs. Jeb for the nod
Edited on Sat Jan-31-04 11:14 PM by mot78
It's 2008, and despite our loss in 2004, we're relatively united in our primaries, while two of the biggest opportunists run in the GOP primary: Jeb Bush and Rudy Giuliani. Buth of them are popular amongst Repugs, but if they became the two main candidates, the Repugs would show a sectional spilt not seen in any political party since the Dixiecrats bolted the 1948 Convention. All of the Northern, Western, and Midwestern states would go for Rudy, while the South would go for Jeb. The sectional animosity would cause the losing group to either stay home, or, in Jeb's case, vote thrid party.

1. Maybe
Certainly not outside the realm. Jeb in '08 may be just too much of a dynasty for even the hardcore. Rudy won't go over well with the South, IMHO. That's why I'd be surprised to see him as VP in '04. Cheney holds the power...unless his health has taken a bad turn....

3. Freepers don't question, they follow
They'll kill a million babies just to get the chance to vote for a Bush.

7. Yes, they will after they are born, however they will
go the distance to protect blobs of unborn cells.

2. Delay 2008 (God I hope not!)
Don't think Jeb would have support if W loses. Rudy I don't think would play incredibly well in the South as the above poster said. Maybe Bill Frist?

4. He's too insiderish
But I'm talking about if we lose this year. However, you're right that Jeb won't be viable if we win (and neither will any Bush...even George P who's only in his 20's will be part of a tainted dynasty)

10. Tom DeLay 2008 would be hillarious, unless he actually wins...
I'd love to see the fascist actually running a presidential campaign but if he wins the election then we'd be fucked over ten times worse than under Bush.

5. I Would Choose Giuliani in a Second
at least the man has some redeeming qualities. NYC improved under his tenure, whereas Jeb has done his best to drive FL into the ground.

9. Ask New Yorkers, and You'll Get Mixed Reviews on Giuliani
his personal life won't take public scrutiny well. He's also Italian and Catholic, which may not play well among the anti-Catholic fundie set. Also, he's pretty liberal as far as Repukes go and may alienate conservatives.

6. Unless the Dem President puts these traitors in jail where they belong
That to me is the best scenario.

8. If we lose in '04, there won't be an '08.
Four more years of Bush, and General Frank's remarks about America becoming a military government will have already taken place. A council of Generals would be choosing a leader in '08.
