Conservatives, freepers, et. al. are losing it...
Sometimes I like to venture over to where some of our more right-wing citizens like to hang out on the web. I tell you, and this is anectdotal at best, but I've noticed the following.

1) There is a major contingent of conservatives that are seriously questioning Bush's* leadership. Now unless he divorces Laura and shows up on "Queer Eye" I don't think we would get their vote. However, there is a good chance that this disenchantment will snowball into serious voter apathy in the conservative base that Bush finds his support. Florida, here we come.

2) The conservatives are completely on their heels and in defense of a democratic primary that is both interesting to voters and a daily soapbox for Bush critics. The more Bush* refuses to be accountable for his actions, the more they are on the defense.

3) There is almost an air of acceptance that they know anyone who voted for Gore/Lieberman in 2000 will never vote for Bush* and that Bush* has not done enough to convince independents.

It's early folks, but I see the "other half" (that is the reasoned Democrat) of America finally pulling the wool off and the conservatives may not have the energy nor the support to do anything about it.

GO DEMOCRATIC IN 2004. FOR YOUR CHILDREN'S SAKE.

2. Alot can happen in 10 months of course, but
if things continue in their current direction, I think the presidential election will be a landslide for the Democratic candidate.

4. Which is why..
we should vote with our hearts, not with a dumb "electability" scale.

7. We need the House and Sentate, too
It will take both branches of Government to set America on a worthy, sustainable and equitable pathway to the future.

The people ain't gonna get the Courts back for a while.

8. Riots!
They are planning to start riots during their convention in NYC. Fascists always do crap like that, knowing that scared little rabbits in all the other part of the country will vote fascist when they see riots.

If you are planning to demonstrate in NYC, be forewarned. This is what they do. Always. No variation at all. Please prepare yourselves to deal with this stuff. It will happen.

3. After Iowa
Edited on Sat Jan-31-04 02:56 PM by Gman
I posted a note here among the disappointment of the Dean people and the exuberance of the Kerry people that no matter what, it was a good week because we were (and still are) getting the most positive media coverage since probably 1996. That coverage continued last week and this week and its going to continue for the foreseeable future.

I think this coverage is doing an immense amount of good in getting our message out to moderate Republicans and independents. Right now on January 31, 2004 at 1:54 pm CST, things are looking very very good.

So it just dawned on me that Karl Rove knows this too. So with the reports late yesterday about the possibility of more planes flying into buildings, you have to wonder if it has crossed Karl Rove & Co.'s minds to just LIHOP.

11. I know
I'm at FR almost every day (although I cannot post there -- banned since '99), and the anti-Bush sentiment is amazing. Some of them are even calling for his impeachment. Not a good sign for the Bushies.

12. This is why it's our election to lose
We have an immense amount of ammo against the Bush Administration, and the Democrat's know this. But the fact that they've also pissed off a great deal of their base is what is going to win the election for us. The hardcore probably won't vote for our guy, but we can hope that they've been disenchanted with Bush enough to sit home and not vote on election day.

13. even with me, Bush's credibility has plummetted
I never saw Bush as the most credible guy in the world, and still I'm shocked at the sheer magnitude of his dishonesty, as revealed in the WMD mega-scandal.

Now, imagine if you are someone who never would think of doubting Bush. Think of all the blown minds out there in Freeperland.
