Bush and Co are Not conspiring liars...
Edited on Fri Jan-30-04 07:10 PM by einniv
You hear it all the time on here , around the 'net and even in casual conversation from time to time. Bush and his administration are a bunch of lying , conspiring evil-doers.

They KNEW about 9-11 or something similar coming and they let it happen so they could launch their long plan scheme to rule the world. Muuhahaha.

But get real that isn't how things work in America. And besides, if you want to know what really happened you have a much more reliable source than some tabloidy internet site throwing around speculation. It is the words of the president and his administration themselves. And you should always believe what your president tells you. He is your president after all.

And the president and his people have told us loud and clear that they didn't know. In fact they had no clue what was going on. Remember Condi? She said they would have never imagined planes would slam in to buildings. Now, some look at the fact that when Bush went to Europe pre-911 there were anti-aircraft missiles set up around the building (for just such an attack) and they say to themselves, well surely then they were at least exposed to the idea and therefore Condi is lying. Or they may conclude the same from the fact of US agencies that had run drills for such scenarios. But it just isn't the case. There was no lying involved. Yes, the people that set up the meeting in Europe were on the ball. And, yes, some US agencies are pretty sharp too. But not the Bushes. These guys were as clueless as they come. Thats what they say. I think we should take them at their word.

As far as the intelligence warnings, well, it just wasn't enough. They didn't ignore it on purpose, they just , well... its just that it would have taken a sledgehammer to wake them from their dreams of shiny new multi-billion dollar missile shields and locking up pot smokers. No conspiracies no dark plans. They were just asleep, plain and simple, asleep at the wheel.

And for Bush in the schoolroom... well , that sums up George Bush's presidency perfectly. The country is under attack and all George knows to do is just sit there and not make a commotion for the cameras. He isn't in charge anyway. He has told us that himself later and this backs him up as telling the truth. It is always someone else's fault. It is Cheney or Rummy or someone (everyone but Powell apparently) giving him bad advice or not telling him the whole story.

It isn't his fault! He doesn't know what is going on on his own. Remember, these same bad advice guys were the ones that trained him before the 2000 elections. He doesn't know what is going on on his own. It isn't his fault! If he were really in charge then maybe he could take some blame but he isn't so stop blaming him. That is what he tells us and I think we should believe him.

And then there is Iraq. Iraq Iraq *sigh* Iraq. I'll just start by saying , none of it is Bush's fault. I believe him when he tells me that. I mean after all , all that bad pre-war intel came from Rumsfeld's Office of Special Plans inside the pentagon. Aluminum tubes and Uranium and such. You can't blame George for Rummy's screw up. He wasn't lying at all. And Rummy didn't know it was bad intel either, or so he says. But I believe him. Yeah, it was his group, but that doesn't mean he really was involved in much of any way. He had no idea what was going on and what they were doing. He was completely clueless. And poor George , the only info he had was from clueless Rummy who had been deceived by his own group! Too bad these guys couldn't pick up a newspaper or two at the time, to realize their mistake sooner but at least they aren't lying.

And how about misjudging Iraq despite the warnings of many experts? Again, no devious plan to keep troops in the middle east for a long time to come, and to invade yet more countries. They just didn't know!! OK!!?

You gettin' it yet? These guys aren't liars and conspiring crooks at all. They are just clueless, uninformed incompetents!!

So when the president tells you he isn't lying to you, believe him. Take him at his word. He just isn't in charge,,, doesn't know what is going on,,, and is surrounded by a group of other incompetents as his only source of information.

    Cut George some slack ok?

1. Expect no quarter
The neocons have made it perfectly clear that their goal is a)Pax Americana; and b) the elimination of the multi-party system for a corporate theocracy.

The only thing they deserve is a cell in the Hague, IMO.

"They are just clueless, uninformed incompetents!!"

And they are liars on a scale that makes the Prince of Lies, Satan, blush.

Welcome to DU. I hope others see the irony in your post.

7. Cut Bush some slack? Ummmmm...
NO! Not now, not ever. All of the people in his past did exactly that, from his college professors to his National Guard commanders and look what it got us. A person completely lacking in honesty and conscience. I will not forgive such an obvious leech.

13. No no...
I saw the pre bombing footage from the BBC.
Bush has his own hairdresser who primps him like a schoolgirl and he wasn't primping himself at all.
