Could * Declare the Democratic Nominee an "Enemy Combatant"?
I mean, if you look at the PAT Act and take the rhetoric from the wing-nuts to it's logical conclusion, "If you're not with us, you're a'gin us" What would stop him and Asscrack from declaring that in the interest of National Security, we need to "stay the course".

3. Sadly, I think most of the country is too
tuned out and less than half would show up to participate in a civil war! They'd tell the rest of us to "get over it" and move on. Go shopping!

6. Civil War?
I sincerely doubt that. General condition of disarray that predominates within the Democratic party and the current virtually comatose American public would not allow for any such happenings.

5. He could, but he won't
That would shatter the lying illusion of a Free People in a Free Nation who have a say in electing their National Leader.

That mythos is at the heart of America, as it was during the Roman Republic (who's nation was also born by overthrowing tyrannical kings).

That mythos must be preserved and shielded from reality, so that the Imperial Subjects may more happily accept the Yoke of Tyranny under another name.

Thus the Imperials dare not overstep their bounds in this fashion, lest they wake the American People while there is still a chance they could do something about it.

8. What else can I say but "The Matrix is Powerful"
(in case you think I am :tinfoilhat: , I am speaking metaphorically)

What I mean is that the Busheviks, during the 80s and perhaps before (they were Nixonviks then) decided to create a Propaganda Infrastructure including Party-Loyal Sub-Media reminiscent of the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany (but geared to the unique cultural imperatives of the Old American Republic, such as avoiding overt racism and violence).

They have successfully done so at the same time that sea changes in mores in Media (driven by the Party-Loyal Sub-Media and the rest of the Bushevik Propaganda Infrastructure) have weakened that institution beyond the point where it can uncover ANYTHING or even dare to give voice to anyone who bucks the New Politikal Korrectness of Imperial Amerika (the Emperor is God-sent, the Emperor is always honest, those who dislike the Emperor are mentally unstable -- that's an especially ironic one because that is EXACTLY what the Soviets used to say about the dissenters of Communism).

9. I'm not tin-foil hatter myself, but
They have already begun to label anyone who dissents with this mis-administration as traitorous. Where does the logical conclusion take you? Where it takes me is to a scary place.

11. As Frank Zappa said
"The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way, and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theatre."
~ Frank Zappa, 1977

10. He *could*
but I have to imagine that would not be his best electoral strategy...and it would put the US on level with so many third world countries that we decry for being undemocratic.

12. READ FURTHER
Yes, they could read it that way and do it. But, I don't think most "wrongers" (my name for the "right") would tolerate that under most circumstances.

Do you know that under the UN-Pat. Act and the Homeland Security Authorization, if you protest and interfere with a business, you are a terrorist and not only can be arrested, for a Constitutionally Guaranteed Right, but you can also lose your American Citizenship and be deported.

Under the UN-Pat Act that when the terrorist threat is raised to RED, that NO ONE can go out of their houses, anytime? Under Marshall Law, they can have curfew between sundown and sunrise, but not all the time.

Isn't this the best way to win the election this year? We have a RED ALERT and so therefore we have to call off the election. Remember, Rudy G., the Mayor of NY, said he was going to put the elections on hold, because he had declared an Emergency and that we should not "switch horses in the middle of the stream". There was such a loud cry against it, that he had to back down. But, if there were actually terrorist attacks, the people would be happy to give over the last of their freedoms!

Some famous patriots opinions:

"Dissent is the highest form of patriotism" THOMAS JEFFERSON

"ALL THAT IS NECESSARY FOR THE TRIUMPH OF EVIL, IS THAT GOOD MEN DO NOTHING"! Edmund Burke

"When the people fear the government you have tyranny; when the government fears the people you have liberty."
-- Thomas Jefferson

"TO ANNOUNCE THAT THERE MUST BE NO CRITICISM OF THE PRESIDENT, OR THAT WE ARE TO STAND BY THE PRESIDENT, RIGHT OR WRONG, IS NOT ONLY UNPATRIOTIC AND SERVILE, BUT IS MORALLY TREASONABLE TO THE AMERICAN PUBLIC." Theodore Roosevelt
