Is it possible Bush WANTS to lose in 2004?
Edited on Wed Jan-28-04 11:47 PM by hexola
I'm suggesting that BushCo. has already accomplished everything they came to town to do. These guys want to get down to making some serious cash! Having Bush in office is probably just getting in the way...

Liberal Immigration Policies...and now funding the NEA!!! Gosh - next maybe Laura will go out and re-affirm the righteousness of Roe v. Wade.

on edit: thanks!

4. Yes - but are we just buying "The Big Show"???
Somedays I feel like I'm falling for it...I think they don't care. Our disdain for BushCo. is somehow shaping and molding us. Beware.

Winning is a liability for BushCo. They will make way more dough out of office than in.

11. I don't think they care...the media will decide anyway...
I think they have discounted the possiblity of Kucinich ever winning...and I think they would be comfortable with any of the others...

BushCo. just wants to get back to business...the media will pick the candidate that they think will bring the best ratings...

Look at the big shift in Iowa...totally contrived by the media.

I think the media lost faith in Howard Dean...not sure why...

28. This subject has crossed my mind several times. Dumba**
and his handlers had to know that immigration thingy was gonna piss off his base. Come on, who else supports this guy? The polls are smelly bs. I believe that a majority of us serfs hate him. He has absolutely no chance in 04 not even with Liebold. You can see it you can feel it in the air. The elite put him there, he has served his purpose, the elite have chosen his replacement. Make no mistake he is going down...in flames. But...that is not necessarily good news.

5. I read an article years ago about Bush's gubernatorial reign of Texas.
that stated his SOP was to run as a moderate and for the first 2 1/2 yrs rule as a hardcore conservative and for the tail end of his terms to become MUCH more centrist to leave the taste of centrism in people mouths heading towards the election and then to point to the recent past as evidence of his moderation. I think it was Ivins.

9. The repukes can't grow the economy-
they only come around to harvest the bounty for the aristocracy after the Dems do all the dirty work of getting it growing.

they may also realize that they've gotten in over their heads in the middle east, but at least Poppy Smirk has been avenged, and the surplus drained.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if that's the plan- after all, his daddy threw the election in 92 to Clinton so that he and his "crew" could squirm out from under Iran-contra.

by giving them a reason to go to Washington to put a little better controll on the pursestrings ?

Mars, shot down. NEA, soon to be shot down. Republican congressional types look like heros to the taxpayers for stopping some boondoggles but need help to put the leftists out of the equation once and for all.

Just a nutty thought I've been having.

38. Good point, but
I need to know more about Kerry's Skull and Bones days. How long was he in, what were his reasons for leaving etc. It could be that he was just a kid poking around finding things out. His life since those days has been on the other side of the fence.

This needs more study.

17. that decision will be made by others..
and i do not mean the voting populace..for some time i have pondered that the cerebrally challenged bush would outlive his usefulness to his corporate masters and as such be jettisoned to the trash can of history..the problem will be for the next president (if the ruling powers decide that is to be a democrat) to re-assure the "markets" and ensure the profit flows remain steady.. bush made these "markets" nervous as he panders only the energy and arms manufacturing wings of capitalism..the challenge for the next president is too maintain the hegemonic and imperialist ambitions of the true rulers of the world without starting a peoples revolution that would disrupt profits..if he cannot do this ..he too will be cast aside ..

18. So what do they do with the almost 200 mil they've raised for the campaign
Edited on Thu Jan-29-04 12:14 AM by RandomKoolzip
Are they gonna keep this money? Supposedly they've raised more money than any other presidential candidate EVER. So....drop out? Lose?

Doesn't make sense.

UNLESS, unless, they spend a couple mil or so on the campaign, lose while pretending to care, and keep the rest for themselves and their families, and retire far away from the mess they've made of the earth.

However, believing in this would require such massive suspension of disbelief that it makes the "Hillary in 04" nonsense spewed by the right sound like James Randi.

Look at it this way...it's 200 mill the other guys won't get...they have taken alot of money out of the political system...

And was this 200 mil given specifically to BushCo. or to the GOP? Perhaps they can spread it around...

33. I believe in most states
a politician can do what ever he wants with his 'war chest' if he/she doesn't spend it all on their campaign.

Bu$hler is making sure he enriches himself and his friends as much as possible during his 4 year term and bankrupting the US Treasury in the process. Since Bu$hler can't sit on the boards of any of corporations while he's pres, he can only make some extra money by raising money for his campaign. Now it makes sense why him and Cheney are so concerned and dedicated to fund raising as much as possible, but could care less what anybody thinks about them.

The damage Bu$hler has done to this country and the world, will be extremely difficult to repair. They know this and don't care. Their mission is to destabilize the world and keep their 100's of 'regional' conflicts going for the rest of the century. This is how they enrich themselves, this is how they make their living.

If Bu$hler blows it and doesn't get reelected, he will be delighted to be out of the limelight. He can go sip martini's with Kenny Boy and Osama and gloat about how easy it was to destroy the world.

In the meantime the machines are fixed to make sure the repugs keep the House and Senate, so even if a dem wins the WH, they won't be able to get anything done anyway.

20. Was Perot just a plant?
I have come to the point where I now believe that Perot, a Texan who came out publicly in support of Bush II in 2000, surprisingly, is just a peice in the puzzle. Ever notice the ridiculousness of his demise? That whole "they spied on my daughter's wedding" bullshit and the selection of his known to be brain damaged idiot running mate? Remember Perot singing "Crazy" by Patsy cline?

GWHB couldn't win because he wouldn't have been able to pardon the Iran-Contra crowd, and thus would have been impeached. Having his idiot son take his presidency where they believe it should have gone is just icing on the cake for those corrupt fucks.

Prove me wrong.

24. I've been think that myself
I don't think Bush wants to lose so much as he doesn't seem to care if he wins. It seems Bush is acting as if he did all the major things he wanted to do except for nominating someone to the supreme court.

He enriched all his corporate masters, reduced civil liberties for regular folk, and avenged his Daddy among other things. I think a reelection for him would just be icing on the cake.

34. Sorry but that is just wishful thinking
I'm still making book that not only will Bush run, but he will win too(or at least be reselected).

The deal is isn't that Bush is acting like he doesn't want to win, he is acting like he already has the election in his back pocket. This kind of arrogance stems from the fact that he has Diebold already in his pocket, and the fact that more and more states are adopting the Choice Point method of voter scrubbing, hence more and more Dems are going to be disenfranchised. On top of that, if it becomes painfully obvious that Bushco isn't going to win(obvious enough that the whore pollsters can cover for him anymore), I honestly think the administration will pull out their LIHOP/MIHOP trump card and BOOM! martial law and no elections for a long while.

Bushco has plenty of reasons to stay in office, what with more of our money to loot(along with our children's and grandchildren's money), following the PNAC warpath into Iran, Syria, or both, tax cuts to make permanent, making the PATRIOT Act permanent, a middle class to strangle into nonexistence, and on and on and ever on. He's already making plans for his second terms, what with the rumblings about Syria and Iran, the hints at a draft upcoming, the furor over gay marriage, etc.

Sorry to be such a bummer, but I think we're stuck with the chimp one way or another. The question now is how long?

37. Yep. But the problem is all
of the shit coming down on them. How can they avoid all the scandals?

If the BFEE is allowed to continue and come back with a Kerry, or Dean dabbling with office interns scandal in a few years they can then begin the whole process of ripping off the public again.

I think they are going to do makeovers and dissappearing acts on a grand scale. Maybe stage a WTC attack on "themselves" or something.

The money pissed away in Iraq profiteering will be hard to trace if their money laundering apparatus is allowed to stay in place.

But a vital part of their international operations is Saudi Arabia, if we can bear down on them.......
