7. I am amazed as well
I thought the biggest doozy was Lord Hutton's "inquiry" into Kelly's death. Not only did they fail to come to the conclusion that he was murdered (much less who was responsible), they actually turned the whole damn thing on its head and blamed the BBC for airing the story in the first place! Talk about a fucking sham. I hope the people of Britain are not fooled.

Blame Clinton

Blame the CIA

Blame the French

Blame the Russians

Blame Saddam

Not one word about Cheney and the CIA or OSP.

No accountability anywhere.

Dis-gusting...

9. Yes, it is the biggest cover up in history
Interesting how Senator Byrd never got a chance to talk. Warner put Byrd's questions in the record. What a coincidence that he was called out before his turn to question Kay. HUMMMMM

I was so looking forward to Senator Byrd's comments and questions.

Regarding the extension of the 9-11 panel ....we certainly can't let the election inter fer with the truth, now, can we?

People need to wake up. I fell like only those on DU know the truth.

Edited on Wed Jan-28-04 05:26 PM by rumguy
How is it getting squashed? I don't see how they could do this with the four New Jersey moms on their cases...

Won't this only add fuel to the speculation that * is hiding something?

I just can't see how this is good move for the rethugs...

15. WH opposes longer 9/11 probe
WH opposes longer 9/11 probe (or politics is more important than the truth)

http://washingtontimes.com/upi-breaking/20040128-112358-8834r.htm

WASHINGTON, Jan. 28 (UPI) -- The Bush administration said Wednesday it opposes giving a bipartisan commission more time in its investigation of the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

White House spokesman Scott McClellan said the administration had already given the commission "unprecedented" cooperation in its probe, turning over more than 2.3 million pages of documents, giving commission members and staff more than 100 hours of agency-level briefings and granting more than 100 interviews.

The commission, created in late 2002 to examine why the Sept. 11 attacks occurred, wants a two-month extension of its mandate, carrying its work deeper into the election cycle.

31. This sounds like...
"White House spokesman Scott McClellan said the administration had already given the commission "unprecedented" cooperation in its probe, turning over more than 2.3 million pages of documents, giving commission members and staff more than 100 hours of agency-level briefings and granting more than 100 interviews."

...a document dump.

It's an old ploy -- during discovery in a case, one side will try to hide evidence and/or buy time by burying the opposition in paperwork. I've participated in just such dumps. 2.3 million documents is a LOT of stuff to go through, let alone use to make connections.

No wonder they don't want to extend the investigation...

Matthew Simmons was on the Task Force, he's
not bashful.
"The electricity business has also run out of almost all existing generating capacity, whether this capacity is a coal-fired plant, a nuclear plant or a dam. The electricity business has already responded to this shortage. Orders for a massive number of natural gas-fired plants have already been placed. But these new gas plants require an unbelievable amount of natural gas. supply is simply not there." < ENERGY IN THE NEW ECONOMY: The Limits to Growth, Matt Simmons[br />

39. That is what's freaking me out too - the facts have been published
already, but they can go on TV with an alternate reality and it gets accepted like the facts never even existed.

If the people in charge are never held accountable and can lie at will and ignore reality, then I suppose we could eventually end up like the Soviet Union and just collapse under the weight of false ideology and incompetence. What a sad ending that would be compared to how the country began.

41. deceit is fundamental to animal communication
'It is almost as if the human brain were specifically
designed to misunderstand Darwinism, and find it
hard to believe.

The Maximum Power Principle (or "MPP") states that
all open systems (Bernard cells, ecosystems, people,
societies, etc.) evolve to degrade as much energy as
possible while allowing for the continued existence of
the larger systems they are part of. Thus, the MPP gives
direction to evolution and is consistent with modern
biological evolution theory.

The MPP suggests that as systems are moved
away from equilibrium they will take advantage of
all available means <[17>] to resist externally imposed
reductions in power. As the MPP suggests, we social
animals are natural-born killers.

although the powers-that-be would like us to think they have that possibility covered.

We shall see. Remember "credit", as in the "credit (banking) system" comes from the Latin "credo"--I believe. Sort of reminds me of the Wizard of Oz.
