Fire Tucker Carlson now.....please.
He just said that people feel a "physical threat" from Howard Dean.

Paul Begala just SAT there.

fire him, too.

what happened to him, BTW?

dovetails nicely with this story, as well

The New Hampshire exit poll that the major networks are using today asks mostly straightforward questions: Are you male or female; white, black or Hispanic; liberal, moderate or conservative? Who did you vote for? When did you decide? Did you pick your candidate because you think he can defeat George Bush or because he agrees with you on the major issues?

But on one of the two questionnaires being used, there's this zinger: "Regardless of how you voted today, do you think Howard Dean has the temperament to serve effectively as president?" That, of course, raises the possibility that he might not, and the results could be cited endlessly in the primary coverage.

No other question asks for voters' views on Kerry, Edwards, Clark or any other candidate. Dean spokesman Jay Carson calls it "the do-you-think-he's-a-bad-guy question. It certainly seems a little bizarre."

1. who's more loathsome, Carlson, or Peggy Noonan?
how do they get away with comments like Carlson's, or Noonan's amazing comparison of Dean with a wife beater???!!!!

she said that on Matthews, apparently with no response to such an outrageous accusation from him

19. Peggy Noonan is Reagan's Monica. Although I'm sure she's eager to
"service" bush II as she undoubtedly enjoyed doing with his dad, also.

I have NO respect for Peggy "Monica" Noonan. NONE. What a simpering sycophantic suck-off. (Oooh, I like the sound of that!) She's an embarrassment to women everywhere! And, for that matter, Tucker Carlson isn't much better. He's an embarrassment to twerps and snot-noses everywhere.

4. he's been WAY too passive, lately
Carlson is almost beyond description.

almost every comment directed toward any democrat is laced with pouty vitriol, the look on his face as nauseating as his disdainful words.

he's SUCH a little SNOThead!

I wonder what the feeling is about him among his fellow "journalists," not that I include him in that category.

matter of fact, there aren't many journalists out there at all.

in the words of Jon Stewart to Ken Auletta (referring to the WH press corps), they're mostly stenographers.

gratifying to see SOMEbody use that very apt description

Auletta agreed with Stewart, BTW, pointing out that this junta bears VERY close watching; that the obligation of the media is NOT merely to regurgitate back to the public the words of those in power, but to determine the accuracy, the truthfulness, of what's been said.

as if........

5. now, for the National Election Pool story, in which Dean gets it
Edited on Tue Jan-27-04 02:36 PM by buycitgo
I know someone who's looking into this story himself.

he CALLED Larry Rosin, from the polling company:

Edison Media Research / Mitofsky International
34 West Main St.
Somerville, NJ 08876

Email: info@exit-poll.net
Phone: 908-722-8683
Fax : 908-722-8643

website
http://www.exit-poll.net/pool.html

He asked him WHY they asked such a question about Dean, why they didn't ask it about anyone else, and who put the question in there.
After dumping him off to someone else, he came back, and told him that ABC gave him all the questions, gave him the name Kathy Levine (unsure of spelling), but refused to give him a contact.

I'll link the entire post, if he says it's OK, but it's a fascinating insight into the depths to which "they" will sink to go after the ones they consider to be "grave and gathering threats" to the incumbency.

also, from the abovementioned post, this admonishment:

I encourage (encourage hell, I beg - I'm typing this on my knees!!) all of you - email/write or call these people. pass this information far and wide. Contact the networks that hired them, write lettersa to the editor. We need to make a damn big stink about this, and you should do it no matter which candidate you prefer, lest you find your own favorite on the wrong end of one of these "Have you stopped beating your wife" questions.

thats been obvious for a long time. He never defends Dean except for his campaigns ability to get people involved. Kucinich he doesn't even attempt to defend ever.

7. you're right about that
but, what about the above?

his candidate (Clark?) has been savaged, and they'll do the same pushpoll garbage to him as they're doing to Dean.

this should be a HUGE story.

oh, wait a minute; it's the MEDIA who are behind it!

no way they'll be reporting on this at all

call all the bloggers!

17. Neither does Carville
so they really don't care if there's an attack against Dean unless it is implied as an attack on Dems as a whole.

Dean's gaffes are far fewer than the press has magnified, but when he gaffes, he gaffes terribly.

isn't anyone OUTraged about the networks' so transparently insuinating themselves into the electoral process itself, attemting to SWAY public opinion, rather than merely reporting upon it?

this calls for license hearings, doesn't it?

16. what people, exactly? Where are they? Who are they?
how does Carlson know this so intimately? Could it be the voices in his head are telling him this and he's taking that as "exclusive information" to pass on to the gullible neocon media?

Carlson knows nothing. His thought, or lack thereof, demonstrates that he knows nothing. He uses the drug of fear which the neocons traffic in like it's heroin--and he pushes his drug on the gullible American people who crave being scared and in fear of something they perceive as greater than themselves.

How could someone who's never known dean personally and intimately be afraid of his anger? That's some crap only a psychiatrist can iron out with some heavy anti-hallucinatory drugs.

22. I'm sure Republicans do feel threatened by Dean
They are threatened by their own shadows. I have never seen or heard a more frightened bunch in my entire life. They are afraid gays are going to break up their marriages and force them to have anal sex. They are afraid of virtually everything. They are cowards and strut around acting big trying to cover up their terror. They sure have the mean talk down good though.

of what a complete, lying shitbag he is

from MWO

http://mediawhoresonline.com/

Monday on CNN's Crossfire:

TUCKER CARLSON: More to the point, the question is "Are there ties between Saddam's government and al-Qaeda?" That's what we should be looking at, not whether some...

PAUL BEGALA: And there are not. Even the Secretary of State has said there aren't.

CARLSON: Actually the Secretary of State has said no such thing!]
BEGALA: Yes he did. He said there's no smoking gun conclusion that there's any links with al Qaeda...

CARLSON: Maybe on Media Whores.com or something, but in newspapers that is not what he said.

BEGALA: That's Media Whores ONLINE .com, by the way.

The New York Times, a newspaper:

FOREIGN DESK | January 9, 2004, Friday
THE STRUGGLE FOR IRAQ: DIPLOMACY;
Powell Admits No Hard Proof In Linking Iraq to Al Qaeda

By CHRISTOPHER MARQUIS (NYT) 1155 words
Late Edition - Final , Section A , Page 10 , Column 1

ABSTRACT - Secretary of State Colin L Powell concedes that despite his assertions to United Nations last year, he has no 'smoking gun' proof of link between government of Iraqi Pres Saddam Hussein and terrorists of Al Qaeda; says he thinks possibility of such connections did exist, and it was prudent to consider them at that time; his remarks are stark admission that there is no definitive evidence to back administration statements and insinuations that Hussein had ties to Al Qaeda; impression of such a link in public mind has become widely accepted--and something administration officials have done little to discourage

MSNBC.com (1/04)

WASHINGTON - Secretary of State Colin Powell reversed a year of administration policy, acknowledging Thursday that he had seen no "smoking gun concrete evidence" of ties between former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and al-Qaida...

Powell’s observation marked a turning point in administration arguments in support of the U.S. invasion of Iraq last spring. The assertion that Saddam and the terrorist network led by Saudi fugitive Osama bin Laden were working in concert was a primary justification for the war.

As recently as September, President Bush declared that there was “no question” that Saddam had ties to al-Qaida.

Email Tucker Carlson. Request he apologize to Mr. Begala and Media Whores Online for maligning their accuracy in reporting.
