I have just started reading "Bushwhacked" by Molly Ivins and Lou Dubose. This is one dynamite line from the Introduction that absolutely hits the nail on the head.

Everything this appointed regime does has the Mayberry Machiavellian purpose of enriching themselves and their supporters -- and the rest of us can eat cake. What a sad state this country is in, and we are now trying to export this imperialistic opportunism (me first!!) to Iraq, the Middle East and the gods only know where next.
