Schumer is up for re-election. I'm going to bring up this vote to everybody that I know:mad:

1. Once the 60 votes were reached, the next 5-incl Schumer- were not

critical

And the NYC State and the WTC funds were held hostage -

The GOP is very good at fake PR decision votes. He could not "win".

2. Schumer voted to end the filibuster

This bill, just like no child left behind and every other trojan horse, is not going to be fully funded. He should have voted NO. I view him as a turncoat.

on edit: what people like Schumer fail to realize is that we won't get a filibuster-proof Senate and the Repugs can block as well as anybody.

4. Conrad and Dorgan of ND: Nea!
Conrad I have tremendous respect for (voted against IWR). Dorgan is a bit more of a liberal Republican populist at heart.

Both stood up to this, which pleases the hell out of me.

6. Not only did they not vote
Why weren't they screaming their heads off about this? Why weren't ALL the Dems in the Senate opposing this? Dammit, people, if you don't stand up and tell Bush* and the Republicans "NO!" sometimes they are just going to keep walking over you!

9. good question
Dean should have blasted this bill in the debate last night, and then pointed to the three US Senators on the stage and asked them where their 'leadership' was as 8 million Americans lost their overtime.

The media isn't covering this evil bill, either. Nary a peep about the NRA giveaway, the overtime provisions, or the media consolidation (natch). Nothing about how the legislative branch has been completely taken over by the executive.

SOMEBODY needed to be talking about this last night, and the three Senators sure couldn't.

11. I know.
I've been hearing the spin about the lack of "leadership" time and time again from many Democrats. Is it any wonder a lot of people are backing those they view as "outsiders". I've sat back in disbelief the last three years watching the extreme right destroy just about everything good in this Country with VERY little but token "opposition". Fake wars, the destruction of the Constitution, union busting, ruination of the environment and Medicare, etc., etc. and except for a few, the Democrats cave or worse yet enable.

Sorry, I really do not want ANY of these wussy enablers as the nominee for the Democrats (but will be forced to back them none the less). No amount of spin and excuses is going to change that for me. After all the bitching and agonizing we have all done here over the last few years, it surprises me that those very same politicians are being fawned over on this forum. May be a bit harsh for some, but thats exactly how I feel.

18. Same reason they.........
didn't vote on the Medicare bill. (Kerry and Lieberman at least)Campaigning was the excuse for that and that they knew their votes wouldn't change the outcome.
