Did that debate on Fox last night end abruptly?
I'm not sure, but I think I missed something. I thought they were breaking for commercial to come back for another 15 minute segment for questions or closing statements, but the next thing I see is Fred Barnes grinning in anticipation of a round of rip the candidates. My husband looked at me and ask "What happened?".

2. I had my TiVo record it and...
It stopped in the middle of Clark talking. I know someone had mentioned that the candidates should stop going over time, so that might have been the problem.

3. You're not imagining things
They said 15 minutes left, went to break and came back to commentary. I turned the channel because I refuse to listen to Fox propoganda. I make painful concessions with myself just to watch the debates.

4. Another 18 minute gap
Yeah, really 15 but I'm stumped as well. They announced a 2 hour debate then the most awkward and senseless conclusion ever, at least the televised version.

When they cut away, Hume said "the Fox portion is over..." so I thought another 15 minutes might be shown on ABC exclusively during Nightline. That made no sense and it didn't happen, just replays.

Will there be a full replay?

5. yes Faux realized that the Dems message was getting thru TRUTH
Edited on Fri Jan-23-04 07:05 AM by ElsewheresDaughter
and they cut the debate off abruptly...because the candidates said, "lets make this debate about the issues...we are not gonna let the RW redefine the issues....it's not about gay marraige....it's not about values...it's not about guns or abortion....IT'S ABOUT THE ECONOMY...IT"S ABOUT HEALTHCARE......IT'S ABOUT THE LIES FOR WAR.....IT'S ABOUT BUSH"....cut to commercial and never came back faux doesn't want their viewers to hear truth because the repuke veiwers were being swayed to our side and Faux was ordered by Rove to end the debate!

7. Sounds like another Soviet moment
Part of me just sometimes says, "Why not just go directly to making the Democratic Party illegal and start rounding up liberals, socialists, and Commies so that we can fucking rumble already."

But then I realize they are deathly afraid of the American People catching on, and even more afraid of that portion of America that is still free in our minds even after our right to ever again have our vote counted in a National Election was taken away and will be gone forever once Stalin's Own Touchscreen Voting machines are installed throughout the Empire.

But in the end, what they are most afraid of is damaging their prize by starting the True Program too early, while people still have the means and will to fight.

In order not to damage the prize, it must be killed slowly and gently, much as the Caesers killed the Old Roman Republic.

Just another Soviet moment in the New Amerika, which more and more looks and feels like the Old Soviet Union.
