Has TV media turned on Bush? Are we, finally, at the Turning Point?
Edited on Thu Jan-22-04 12:39 AM by frank frankly
Since we all know that Bush does not exist, the media is all that holds it together. But the illusion requires a complete lie. It does not last without it's entirety.

Is it coming out, at all, that:

-he is Karl Rove's shadow puppet

-he is only loved through the media's myth of "Bush = Jesus + He's Strong on National Security"

-he really is a callow moron whose uncuriosty is only matched by his aristocratic smirk

-he really has fucked up literally everything

-he lied about the war, is responsible for 9/11

-he doesn't ever actually "do work"

Please provide anecdotal evidence about today and last night's coverage on TV.

Has it begun?

10. possibly....

I don't know if they're turning against him yet...but they're reflecting the general public's coming slowly out of the post 9-11 shadow and during-Iraq shadow of not being able to say or do ANYTHING.

They're looking more even handed now, or even as if they might be on the verge of becoming that "liberal media" we've all been so warned about,..largely since it's the Democrats' heyday 'till the convention. But July through November...with Rove 'n' company behind things, my hopes aren't up.

3. Too soon to tell...........
If he gets honest coverage and insight into his campaign, then we'll know the press has finally started to do it's job. If they once again portray him as a decisive, honest paragon among men, no.

8. it matters, loudnclear
we are where we are.

it all is the medias fault, because most American's would not have gone for this.

if the media improves 10%, it is completely over for Bush = Jesus.

7. nope. they're playing you. it is gonna be sickening this summer
and fall when they eviscerate the Democrat and ignore everything negative about Bush. I'm really sick of it, but they will try with everything to get a second term from the village idiot and his unmerry band of robber barons.

12. Get your ringside seats for the big melt down.
Hehe. I lived through the daily Nixon, "I am not a crook" press conferences. I wonder if Shrub will even face a camera?

19. Nixon was elected a second time. And the media was super
slow to reach the melt down point.

14. I dunno...but it seems to be starting.
I'm hearing more criticism from the media on Bush than I have in previous months. Heck, the St. Paul Pioneer Press, a typically conservative newspaper, just ran editorial articles criticising Bush. I was suprised none-the-less.

16. NPR media whore Cokie Roberts was critical of the SOTU
Forgoing her usual stance as Whistle-Ass apologist and promoter, Cokie gave a "fair and balanced" and even mildly critical review of the speech.

18. Rover figured that all boosh* had to do
was stand at the podium and not drool on himself to have a successful SOTU address. Well, he managed not to drool on himself (if you don't count spilling DICK's glass of vodka), but the reviews were STILL lukewarm, at best. The people with more than two neurons firing apparently weren't all that impressed. It's a promising beginning, but I think I'll withhold any "turning of the corner" declarations for the time being...

20. Well what would you do if you were a big greed corp?
You sell the goods that makes you the most money. So you have to watch the stock holders and the goods you are selling. You make no money if you do not sell and that means the corp. would not have good stocks. You also have to be sure you get the laws in your pocket. And if you wish to buy more power we know who you go with. The NeWS is not liberal.
