Why do so many march in lockstep ??
As Senator Byrd was castigating the Republicans in the House and Senate today for marching lockstep along with Bush, it seems to me the entire Republican Party of this nation is in lockstep...or they have been up to this point. How could so many people follow a leader such as George W Bush? Are we the only ones that see the vacuous shadow of a man? What do they see?

Is their Party really more important than their country? Would Democrats be the same way? I'm sure they would argue that Democrats were like that with Bill Clinton. But we cannot compare Clinton with Bush, can we??

Regardless, the times and situations are different. If Bill Clinton was running $500 billion dollar deficits and lied us into war, surely there would be a few Democrats desert him? Not so with the Republicans. Their Leader can do no wrong. We must hold on to power even if it kills all of us. We must keep things in priority.

1. They have been assimilated
They survive because the party supports them. If they fall out of line, the party just gets another Borg that will not break assimilation.

Look at Harris in Florida that would have loved to have party support for the Senate. Because it might have sunk Bu$h in Florida, they told her to forget it. She did.

2. they hate us
like really, they do. Hate is why they dont care if their policies hurt themselves. Why else would a man vote for a party that doesnt have His best interests in mind?

3. It's ironic

It's ironic since I can remember Limbaugh criticizing Democrats for voting as a block. At least the Democrats weren't threatening their own members with supporting their opponents.

Now a single democrat voting with Republicans (usually Zell Miller) is considered "bipartisan".
