Can somebody tell me why there are gay Republicans?

Especially after tonight's speech by the Monkey in Chief. Bush was stating that there should be an amendment stating that a civil union is between a man and a woman not man and a man or woman and a woman? I am just mystified by it all.

the same thing. I can only venture the guess that it comes from a certain self or lifestyle loathing. It is as inexplicable as African American Republicans.

9. The next room over from me in my dorm was a Log Cabin Republican.

I asked ol' Nathan a couple times how one can be both gay and Republican, but he'd just sigh and close the door. We were civil, though, I lent him my Simpsons DVD season sets a few times.

General shitheadedness is well spread throughout humanity, whether broken down by sex, race, religion, nationality or sexual preference. Just because one has a sexual preference that should make one a bit more sensitive to being shut out of society doesn't necessarily make one a "better" person. Non-heteros aren't any more decent a group of people than straights, and the many traits that make up personality are well distributed.
