Post your "favorite" part of the SOTU
Mine was when he said that he said that the American public has spent their tax cut better than the government could have.

What a load of @#*$&%#. Too bad the government has been on a record spending spree (on all the wrong things) despite the tax cut.

1. Comparison
"The state of our union is confident."

By far the weakest state I've heard in a SOTU since...well...his poppy.

4. my favorite part
was when house democrats boo'd dubya when he was talking about his tax cuts. Also how they cheered when * said the Pat Act will expire in a year. Sheer beauty.

21. That premature applause for Patriot expiring
...was about the proudest I've been of those Dems in a long, long time. I cheered the TV!!

Actually, my words were "You got owned, Monkeyboy!!" :D

:toast:

...I was also a big fan of the 2-year-old girl who wrote him a letter (OK, he corrected himself, but it was funny), and the never-ending, always-expanding list of qualifiers on the WMD in Iraq. ;)

CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP (unintended delay)
... if we can't renew it soon...

paraprhased by memory, but very honest reality opposing that vile crap.

8. Probably would be my favorite too...
But I missed it because I was cooking dinner. My wife was laughing hysterically and I wish I could have seen the unplanned applause surrounding the Patriot Act.

11. I heard Brokaw say he was editing the speech in the limo drive over
I could just see him adding the part about steroids.

Good grief! Someone give HIM a pee test!

18. yep.
Laying out the really, really, really important stuff like ball players on steroids -

Fearlessly talking about the one thing that keeps people awake at night - wondering if there will ever be a solution, wringing their hands in despair, hoping, always hoping for a leader to step forward with the answer -

and

The bold vision *jr put forth by calling on team owners, union representatives, coaches and players to get tough and get rid of steroids now....
sent chills down my spine. That, or I need to put on a sweater.
:eyes:

Made me wonder if he'd written that part of the speech all by himself.

Paraphrased liberally but that in essence is what he said. Just a tad defensive about that aren't we, shrubby?

13. Botulinum toxin? Anthrax? VX nerve agent? Not exactly.
But we have found "dozens of weapons of mass destruction program activities." WHAT?

Where is the media analysis of that? Instead, we get to talk about Dean's "meltdown" in Iowa, the Democrats showing up the President in the SOTU, etc.

20. I agree with the first example
about how the American people know how to spend our money better than our current government. I was thinking to myself, "Well then... I'd like to have our $87 billion back so we can address some homeland issues."

That was my first favorite moment. However I agree with madmax (post #12) that the best part was when it was finally over.

Please, America, don't sign up for another four years of this insanity. If you think it's crazy now, just wait until he doesn't have to worry about being elected for a second term. In another four years, the repukes will have gerrymandered, recess appointed and every other trick in the book to ensure this is one a party state.

22. By far, this section
contains the most convoluted, bait and switch, BS line of crap I've heard in a long time. Every word, line by line, is insane genius because many people will believe it.

"We are seeking all the facts — already the Kay report identified dozens of weapons of mass destruction-related program activities and significant amounts of equipment that Iraq concealed from the United Nations. Had we failed to act, the dictator's weapons of mass destruction programs would continue to this day. Had we failed to act, Security Council resolutions on Iraq would have been revealed as empty threats, weakening the United Nations and encouraging defiance by dictators around the world."

For example, what does this mean, "significant amounts of equipment". - What kind of equipment? and "Weapons of mass destruction-related programs". - They've refined that one into complete jabberwocky. They are the best at framing something to sound like it means something when it actually says NOTHING.
