Wellstone would have given a better response
I know I know... counterproductive fantasy... but at times like these we need some fire.

3. I know -
I often wish we could hear what Wellstone would have to say these days.

After listening to Kennedy last week - and it was a great speech - I did wonder if it's finally dawning on some of the Democrats that they can't sit back and wait for Wellstone to say what needs to be said.

I do miss that man.

5. OMG
it is scary to think that his "accident" was not and accident. He would have lit up the SOTU. It was right after he was making all the fuss about 9-11...scary very scary

7. Miss him, too.
I still have my Wellstone! bumper sticker on my car. They killed his body, but his spirit will live. I describe myself as a Wellstonian Democrat!

8. I think the poster meant that a DEAD Paul Wellstone
would have given a better speech than a live Dashle or Pelosi.

Maybe I am mistaken.

6. I miss Paul Wellstone so much...

There should be a holiday for him of some sorts...give him the proper day of rememberance that he deserves.

12. Unfortunately, they'd have to call it "Imperial Assassination Day"
I shall never forget that those murderous fuckers killed him, or more likely passed his itinerary and security information to the Columbians or other Bushevik allies who also wanted him dead.

It's funny, I'm not even from Minnesota. Wellstone's actual views on more than a few issues were left of my own. But his honor and integrity...the real thing not that PR pablum about our cokeheaded (now prescription pill-popping) Emperor...shone through. His grit and fight made him, I felt and said so proudly, MY Senator.

And that's why they killed him. In Wellstone, a fighter and an honest man with real charisma, the Busheviks knew this was someone who could burn through the Party-Loyal Right-Wing Sub-Media assaults and rally the honorable people of America, making appeals to moderates as he did to me.

When they killed him, I wept. It was then I was sure these Nazi sonsabitches were playing for keeps.

11. I Imagine

I imagine that Wellstone is such a humanitarian that he is probably lobbying to get Nixon out of hell ;-)

That was a much needed smile in a very sad thread.
