Cnn.com: "Bush's strong poll numbers"
How bad do things have to get for him before the media stop reporting this over and over?

Here's today's installment from CNN.com:
"Despite an improving economy and President Bush's strong poll numbers, Republicans expect a tight race this fall..."

There was that CBS poll out over the weekend that showed * losing to an unnamed Democrat. That is definitely *not* a strong poll number.

1. CNN relies on Gallup
which is usually tilted more towards the GOP.

2. Ditto for "Bold"
If I hear another sentence with Bush+Bold in the same sentence....

Lazy writing.

One of our moderate local talk show hosts (Dave Ross) sometimes does a segment where is does a "fill in the blank" cliches used by the press - it's pretty funny.

4. I thought the branding phrase they were using was...
..."Bold and Robust", like good nacho chips.

6. zesty!
I want a President who's zesty, and stays crunchy in milk.

Seriously, if the media whores started saying "Bush is Zesty and Robust, so how can any Democrat beat him?" people would start talking like that.

9. Of course "bold" means incautious
In which case it is appropriate. It takes brains to be cautious.

3. Who are you going to believe?
CNN or your lying eyes?

BTW, in case you hadn't noticed it, there is an inverse relationship between Shrub's approval ratings, and the frequency that CNN states he has 'strong support from the American People'. The lower the ratings, the more often they tell us they've increased the chocolate rations again...

5. Look at it this way,
a couple of months ago the repubics were talking about how * was going to steamroll to a win in 2004. At least now they are saying it will be a tight race. Even they can't run from the obvious when it is out in the open. Here's to sending bushco back under whatever rock they crawled out from.

8. Lowered expectations to rally the base.
If they claim too much bravado the dittos won't find a need to get out.

11. Bush is taking a dive
Just came from pollingreport.com and noticed that his popularity is once again sinking (fast).

It looks like the Hussein's capture has warn off. He'll have to produce Bin Laden before long.
