The irony of Martin Luther King, Jr. "official" birthday holiday
The irony of this great man whose birthday we are celebrating today is that the people who he spent most of his life helping and defending--the poor working class--don't really get to enjoy the day off.

Post offices, banks, and government buildings are closed but service employees in retail, hotels, restaurants, and other facilities are working today--and probably busier due to the holiday.

Doesn't seem fair somehow.

Reminds me of some observation that you get more liberal laws implemented under a GOP President and more conservative laws under a DEM President --- one of those "go to the middle" affects of pandering for votes.
