Put a fork in him: Evangelicals call Bush evil...
Edited on Sun Jan-18-04 12:19 PM by TruthIsAll
There goes the base. The emperor has no clothes. He is just wearing a sock now.

http://bushrevealed.com/

This website serves as notice to Christians across this nation that President George Bush over the past few years has compromised his "Christian faith" by promoting evil and openly supporting wickedness. It is our hope and prayer that he would Repent and turn from such blatant sin. He is not our friend and cannot be trusted.

This website is dedicated to providing up-to-date factual news information tracking the president's anti-Christian and ungodly behavior. We encourage you to pray for Mr. Bush.

"Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." Matthew 7:20

2. Let's not celebrate that website.
Either:

A) Many Americans think Bush is too liberal, for recognizing Ozzy Osbourne among other things,

or

B) That website represents the views of a small number of people, and so those views won't significantly affect the election.

Neither A nor B are things I can celebrate.

3. Some say, He who is an enemy of my enemy is my friend
but sorry, I can't. I'm glad they are outing Bush, but I wish it were about important things like lying about Iraq and stealing its oil, and not harping on their contention that only Christians are right about God.

4. The Jehovah Witnesses came to my door
And they kept saying phrases like "we need peace in the world" and gave me a book promoting peace. I think my perception of them was that of being scared and unnerved by the Bush regime's "all war all the time" mindset. They were two very pleasant ladies in our 7 minute encounter. Bush is sure to pull out of Iraq come hell or high water seeing a Religious backlash to his war madness.

6. There will be an official transfer of power this summer, but
There will be an official transfer of power this summer, but I'm expecting a large number of US troops in Iraq for years, certainly through November.

Maybe there will be a big announcement in July about 10,000 coming home with rosy picture of their arrivals in the US, but I'm not expecting the approximate number of troops to change much in 2004.

11. JWs don't vote, salute the flag or participate in government.
My step-daughter has gotten involved w/ this "cultist" group.

They were using the "peace in world" spiel, but it's just that - a spiel.

So all I am saying is the JWs don't count as they do not vote.

but I wonder if Shrub will tempt some of them to do so.

16. I work with someone who is JW
According to her they do not vote or participate in government. They also do not say the pledge, or celbrate christmas, or birthdays or political government holidays. She wouldn't even eat Mexican food with us on Cinco de Mayo.

My point is that there's no vote to lose in the JWs

5. I'm glad they think he's evil, unfortunately, they hate him because he
doesn't hate gays and women enough for their tastes. These are people that are living in the wilderness two thousand plus years ago.

Even though they may express disappointment with him now, the other side doesn't offer an acceptable alternative in their view.

18. NO
they would consider him way to moderate. If they voted they would probably go puritan party or whatever has replaced it.

8. That site is probably not representative of the majority of fundies...
Actually, among fundamentalist Christians, there has always been a minority who have never liked Bush to begin with, particularly at the extreme-right end of the spectrum. A lot of the militia, neo-Confederate, and anti-Semitic Identity extremist types think Bush is, among other things, not Christian enough, or a tool of the Zionists, or a tool of the New World Order. They have no use for "Christian Zionists" like Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson or Ralph Reed. And most of them opposed the war in Iraq, I should point out.

They are NOT representative of the mainstream of the Christian Right, who are -- like the mainstream of anything else -- willing to be not so hard-line in their beliefs in order to get political power. I think the majority of fundies, who follow relatively mainstream (in this context) leaders like Falwell and Robertson, are perfectly fine with Bush and are going to be loyal to him.

15. That site isn't a regular evangelical site. He's pretty extreme.
He is so far right that he makes even most fundies look liberal. Don't read too much into this guy.

20. Hence, the bribe of $billion plus to 'promote marriage'
It is just a code name for bribe $$ to heavy hitters on the pulpits to get the troops back on task. If not bribe $$, then protection $$ paid to thugs at pulpits who minister* to the followers

* minister to, as in tell them what god wants them to do, as god speaks directly to the ministers who will likely be receiving lots of moo-la to 'promote marriage' wink wink nudge nudge

22. Don't count on the fundies deserting bush.
They know he is the only game in town for them; they will back him fanatically, as always.

Watch pat robertson -- if HE were to pull back from Dumbo, that would be significant. But he won't.
