What do Lou Dobbs and Bill O'Liarly Have in Common?

It looks like Lou Dobbs might have a resume inflation problem just like poor Bill O'Liarly had. After being appalled by Lou Dobbs' lazy regurgitation of the Matt Drudge smear of General Clark on Thursday, I did a little investigation of Mr. Dobbs. Starting with his on-line biography at http://www.cnn.com/CNN/anchors_reporters/dobbs.lou.html in which he claims, along with "nearly every major award for television journalism" that he "serves on the boards of the Society of Professional Journalists Foundation" (note the present tense of the verb serve). Well, since I am aware that the SPJF is very serious about journalistic ethics, I wrote their ethics board a letter asking them how a man serving on their board could have succumb to such an egregious violation of journalistic ethics. Funny thing though, there seems to be some doubt about whether Lou is a member of the SPJF board. There's not a single mention of him on their site and their own members can't seem to figure out if and when he was a board member.

He's been a voice of sanity since he came back to CNN.

His outsourcing America series has been fantastic.

And his constant pressure to throw the Corporate Bums in jail has been stellar.

He gets a lot more respect from me than he used to.

3. Don't be fooled by "Stealth Lou Dobbs"

The heat he has been putting on the corporate theives has been very nice, but it sure won't make up for all of the work he has done for right wing causes over the years.
I agree that his participation in the Drudge slander was not only un-professional, but unethical too.
Lou should really be ashamed of himself.

just when I thought there were no journalists left in America.
This is a story that should be spread. We need to develop a system for getting stories like this out in front of the American public. The right wingers have used mailblaster type methods to distribute their lies. We need to find a way to ensure that we can force the media to present stories like this to the public.
