The Era I'm talking about is the Information Age. As more people turn to the Internet for news, even though most still rely on Corporate Pravda, they are losing power. We live in a time when it is getting increasing harder to hide behind national security or media complacency to keep the screw-ups of the government secret. Think of Chavez, do you think even just ten or fifteen years ago, we would have heard of that at all? Now in Iraq, everyone knows the U.S. is screwing that up, it cannot be buried like Iran was, in obscure books, or Iran-Contra for years after the fact. If Iraq, before the next election, gets worse, then Bush will be unable to hide it. American Media can attempt to censor the truth, however it is ultimately a losing battle. However, it is not easy, and I am grateful for the Internet as my one of 2 sources of major news, the other is C-Span. The problem now is apathy, we are active seekers of the news, and not satisfied to be spoon-fed crap by CNN of Faux, so we look to the Internet for hope. Over this next year, the Internet will be pivotal in the next election.
