Should TBTM or MoveOn start an Ad contest on electronic voting?
Edited on Sat Jan-17-04 01:29 AM by Sperk
Most people have no idea about all the shenanigans going on with these machines. Like the patches put on in Georgia. O'Dell saying that he is committed to "delivering" Ohio to Bush. And the latest linked internal memo discussing how Diebold was going to make the print out equipment "prohibitively" expensive. Yeah, that makes sense, lets make our product so expensive, no one can afford it!

I bet BEV would make a great commercial!!!

1. Anything that can be done to inform on this critical issue.

2. how about a spot where someone is depositing their paycheck
waiting for a reciept that doesn't come, calling on the phone, (ya know the ones they have at the ATM machines) and he/she starts getting the excuses as to why they can't/shouldn't have a receipt. And then a voice over saying something like..."would you trust your paycheck with this bank? Why would you trust your vote with them?"
Or something to that affect. Just my two cents.

5. That's a great idea, Sperk!
And, I think it's a good idea to start a contest regarding an ad about these machines, too.

7. It's a good idea, but it may be too late already
Lots of states already have them in place, and since most of them are broke, there's little chance that they could get rid of them and replace them with anything else in time for the election.. This was probably their plan all along.. Make everything so damned confusing and time consuming, that the clock would run out, and we would be stuck with them :(

And when we complain about the discrepancies, they can just say.."Hey, you wanted new machines...we gave you new machines "..:(
