Hallelujah! Harris won't run!
Rep. Katherine Harris announced on Friday that she would not run for the U.S. Senate in Florida this year, but left no doubt that she expects to run in the future.

<snip>

Harris stopped short of endorsing the White House favorite for the job, former HUD Secretary Mel Martinez, but said, "I will do everything to ensure a Republican is in the United States Senate" from Florida."

Let Me Just Say This:

HALLELUJAH!
HALLELUJAH!
HALLELUJAH!
HALLELUJAH!
HALLELUJAH!

"For The Lord God Omnipotent Reigneth..."

I'm sorry, I just HAD to praise God. I didn't mean to offend anyone.

2. Damn! I was hoping she would!
After reading posts from FL DUers (all saying she would get mauled in the GE), I was of the mindset that a Senate candidacy was the best way to get rid of her (out of the House, even)...

7. Why the hell would you be happy about that?
Mel Martinez is a much stronger opponent than she would be. She would have run if Rove hadn't stopped her

11. Amen.
Besides, once they are in office, the repugs are much the same, only the window dressing is different. "Liberal", "moderate" or "conservative", they all dance to the tune called from the top.

9. Floridians better try to get her indicted for something
like treason for delivering the election to George W. Bush by cheating when it was her duty to insure the election was honest. Then she'll never run for anything else, hopefully. What a ho'.

12. Yea right. Since Mel Martinez has a better chance to win I'm confused.
It's no wonder Democrats are dropping like flies. Politics requires more than emotion in these times and personal convictions are one in 300 million.

13. Funny, when it comes to personal conviction...
...I can only think of one who lacks it - Zell Miller. That's why he's supporting Shrub!

15. Since Harris knows how to rig elections
why would we want her to get a chance to rig one for herself. A chance of one in 300 million is a joke, right?
