OK, they're starting to piss me off...

Afer all this time of having cops peek into my car, pulling ID out at every door, taking off my shoes at the airport...

NOW-- they tell us there might be another airline hijacking, so we gotta get tough on security!

Just what have these assholes been doing for the last two years?

(or are they wagging the dog again?)

1. to top it off
They just announced a cutback on armed air marshalls, and Bush is taking a monthlong vacation.

2. Check your socks for holes before you travel.
Apparently, there's a lot of chatter out there about another hijacking attempt. I don't mind tougher security if I don't end up on a flying bomb like the victims of 9-11.

3. I always thought the 'shoe bomber' was some comic relief...
during those post 9-11 weeks. After all, who what kind of freak would think this up?

What if there is an 'underwear bomber' out there? Some moron with 2#'s of C-4 stuffed into his boxers. Or perhaps someone will try to hide the stuff rectally, a fuse dangling from his sphincter.

Taking off one's shoes in an airport is one thing, but full cavity searches is another animal entirely.

While I am for security, I definately don't want to see anyone get hurt, there are, what I consider limits. After all, is there someone else out there that is going to use his/her shoes as explosive devices?

BTW, if I'm in metal tube, doing 450 mph, and someone starts this crap, I'm gonna put an end to it, and I'm sure the rest of the passengers will too.

:bounce:

6. Interesting, 82% aren't affected...
by the 'terror' alert.

Personally, I don't think they'll try that route again anyway, security is getting better; if they are determined, they will come up with something else, unfortunately.

5. don't forget you will be waiting longer through check-in
because of the layoffs... and perhaps they will tag a few extra security fees on top just to keep that bottom line a bit more padded..

But if someone succeeds (god/goddess forbid) then they will spend a few million investigating and produce a report that points fingers at every intelligence agency.

7. It's all about politics and poll numbers.
They're trying to bolster positive PR from the Hussein Brothers killings with a follow up terror advisory.
Pay no attention. There is no "new threat" or new "chatter."

8. Agreed...
every time the admin gets hammered, they call out the terror police and up the threat.

Worst administration ever.

9. Take your cue from the fact that they aren't funding any of the tough
talk programs purportedly created to fight terrorism. They don't care about or worry about terrorism because they ARE the terrorists.

11. I don't fly anymore
I never liked it to begin with, and I don't want to deal with that crap. If I get on an international flight, I am not coming back.

The thing that pisses me off, is that airlines were against hightened security before 911. Then after, they got bailed out by the government. Great.

12. As long as it didn't cost the airlines...
anything to upgrade security, they were for it. Once there was federal $ to shore them up, they were willing to everything they could.
