Is Bush II following Bush I's game plan?
The nightmare in Iraq, the 9-11 commission getting close to the truth, the jobless economy about to implode...

Sounds alot like 1992 - when some people (Bartcop, for one) think Bush I tanked the election on purpose so as to be able to pardon his Iran/Contra cronies and then retreat back into the comforting arms of the shadow Government, using operatives to help smooth over the execesses of the Reaganaut dynasty and plot for the future. After all, there are many "made" members of the Dem Party who are but shallow shills for the BFEE. Lee Hamilton comes to mind. There is even the possibility that Clinton was a stealth candidate for the Bush Crime Family, but I don't go that far. The BFEE went to extraordinary lengths to smear him right from the start...

It's a possibility, but ONLY if the public starts to learn the truth about 9-11 and ONLY if the commission (which now plans to file for an extension because of the Bushies stonewalling)starts to look like it could become as dangerous to the BFEE's plans - if not even more dangerous than Iran Contra was.

As the post below alludes to : "Why is Bush pissing EVERYBODY off?"

1. well?
was bartcop right? did bush I throw the election in '92?

are the "powers that be" starting to get nervous about the 9-11 investigation, the plame investigation, the o'neill revelations?

after all, the BFEE will still run foreign policy under a Democratic President. Look at Clinton's reign - his White House continued with the child murdering sanctions on Iraq, made cozy with the Red Chinese, continued the genocidal War on Drugs and, with the help of the CIA's buddies in the KLA, prosecuted a "pre-emptive" War in the Balkans...

2. THe pardon is a huge factor
if they can go down before losing 2004 they can be pardoned for any charges. They might want to get those charges out in the open, because if anyone is convicted AFTER the new Pres is in, they won't get pardoned.

Basically, for the crimes they have committed, these guys are in danger of being brought to justice by an angry mob. That has to be a factor in their heads.

3. "brought to justice by an angry mob"
As Cheney said about another tax cut, "It is our due."

4. I am soooooo torn on this issue
While it would be in the best interest of the sick and twisted republican party to throw in the towel and let a democrat be the unpopular one to clean up the mess of the budget deficits and massive job loss, which is going to mean a raise in taxes and reduction in spending....They also have had a sense of power and I can't see them giving that up. Just think what they can do in 4 years without re-election facing them down.

Who knows?

5. Something I discussed with my Dad the other day....
I hate to say this, but I almost wish that Bush does keep the White House in 2004. Think about it. If a Dem wins, he will face all kinds of hell trying to straighten out the mess Bushco left. Not only that, but when all the Bush scheisst really hits the fan (between 2004 and 2008), then the Dem Prez will get ALL the blame.

On the other hand, if Bush stays in office, the house of cards falls anyway, and they just can't blame the Dems at that point. I really think things are going to get so bad, that, when they do (and a Repug is in the White House), then Americans will be left with such a bad taste in their mouths the Republicans will be thrown out of office left and right. When it becomes so painfully obvious that they are solely responsible for the reprehensible state of affairs in this country, they won't hold office again for generations!

As much as I hate to see Bush back in the White House, it might be worth the long-term sacrifice just to have Republicans go down in a blaze so hot that not even the Phoenix could survive.
