"We never did know where to look for them," Richard Perle
Did anyone else READ the Top 10 Idiots this week and READ the links?
I pulled this out and would like to mention that all the lies were proven LIES by Richard "Mr. PNAC" Perle. If his one statement doesn't get blasted all over the media, I am moving to an island in the Pacific without any media access.

http://www.middle-east-online.com/english/?id=6490

Perle added that "we are absolutely certain" that weapons of mass destruction are hidden in Iraq - Washington's motive for launching the offensive against Baghdad - but that it may take dozens of years to find them.

"We don't know where to look for them and we never did know where to look for them," he admitted.

Asked by a reporter when he thought the evidence of those weapons may be found, Perle joked: "I hope this will take less than 200 years."

Please note, he stated CLEARLY:

"WE DON'T KNOW WHERE TO LOOK FOR THEM AND WE NEVER DID KNOW WHERE TO LOOK FOR THEM".

So let's review the lies directly linked to mr. PNAC's statement. One more time, including the original quotes for all of the deflecting Rethug ideologues you encounter.

On September 12, 2002, in a speech to the United Nations General Assembly, the President stated: `Right now, Iraq is expanding and improving facilities that were used for the production of biological weapons.Iraq has made several attempts to buy high-strength aluminum tubes used to enrich uranium for a nuclear weapon.'

On October 7, 2002, in a speech in Cincinnati, Ohio, the President stated: `It possesses and produces chemical and biological weapons. It is seeking nuclear weapons. And surveillance photos reveal that the regime is rebuilding facilities that it had used to produce chemical and biological weapons.'

On January 9, 2003, in his daily press briefing, the White House spokesperson stated: 'We know for a fact that there are weapons there Iraq.'

On March 17, 2003, in an Address to the Nation, the President stated: `Intelligence gathered by this and other governments leaves no doubt that the Iraq regime continues to possess and conceal some of the most lethal weapons ever devised.'

On March 21, 2003, in his daily press briefing the White House spokesperson stated: `Well, there is no question that we have evidence and information that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction, biological and chemical particularly.all this will be made clear in the course of the operation, for whatever duration it takes.'

On March 24, 2003, in an appearance on CBS's `Face the Nation', the Secretary of Defense stated: `We have seen intelligence over many months that they have chemical and biological weapons, and that they have dispersed them and that they're weaponized and that, in one case at least, the command and control arrangements have been established.'

And this one, the Mother of all the lies:

On March 30, 2003, in an appearance on ABC's `This Week', the Secretary of Defense stated: `We know where they are, they are in the area around Tikrit and Baghdad.'

Bush and his minions used the fear and terror that still roils within the American people in the aftermath of September 11 to fob off an unnerving fiction about a faraway nation, and then used that fiction to justify a war that killed thousands and thousands of people.

"I will bring honor to the process and honor to the office I seek. I will remind Al Gore that Americans do not want a White House where there is 'no controlling legal authority.' I will repair the broken bonds of trust between Americans and their government."

-- George W. Bush
March 7th, 2000

What a crock. Blinded by the devils whose names are PNAC.

6. Egnever, If I hadn't bumped this, it would have been history by 10AM
It appears that our community has grown weary of this, just as the misadministration had hoped. The pResident goes on vacation (along with Congress) this weekend, and because NO ONE in our leadership had the balls to ram this issue home, they are going to get away with this fraud. These boards will be filled with trivial palp, and the memories of this fraud will grow dim.

I am disgusted that a quote as important as this was completely ignored not only by the media, but by the membership here and our "Leaders" in the House and Senate.

5. What , and risk the swing voters's media generated view
that the Dems are weak on security?

We are through the looking-glass here, folks, when illegal, unethical and deceptive actions by a government to wage war against other sovereign nations is seen as strong on security....while threatening the world.

7. A lie is still a lie, and Shrub says he's "personally responsible"
George Tenet accepted responsibility for the "16 words".

Stephen Hadley accepted responsibility for the "16 words".

Condi "Rice-a-Roni" reluctantly tried to accept responsibility for the "16 words" yesterday: "I certainly feel personal responsibility for this entire episode,".

In only the ninth press conference of his term (Clinton 33, Bush Sr. 61 at a comparable point ), GWB uttered these words to attempt to take the heat off his minions:

"I take responsibility for everything I say, of course. Absolutely."

GWB decided yesterday (after everyone had fallen on their swords without belief) that he should take responsibility for the "16 words".

He should have done it from the beginning.

A few days ago, nobody was responsible; they were all passing the buck. How inconvenient that the closest thing they had to evidence, turned out to be a fraud.

He has compromised the nation's credibility by the use of questionable intelligence information to justify war and "cover" for the incompetency of his minions.

I guess Shrub is the Liar in Chief. But we already knew that.

“The truth is still the truth, and a lie is still a lie, and the rule of law should apply to everyone, no matter what excuses are made by the president's defenders…We have done so because of our devotion to the rule of law and our fear that if the president does not suffer the legal and constitutional consequences of his actions, the impact of allowing the president to stand above the law will be felt for generations to come…laws not enforced are open invitations for more serious and more criminal behavior.” Rep. James Sensenbrenner (R-Wisconsin)

8. You forgot
Colon's passion play at the U.N. (complete with slide show) of the Iraqi Chemical weapons factory. The little arrows pointing to the Hazmat trucks, and such. Remember, this was PROOF...PROOF,he said that they currently have chemical weapons manufacturing facilities.

Hmmm....Where are they now?

Good job! We've got to keep pushing this.

9. Bush lies, people die
Press question:
Has the US has lost credibility by building the case for war on sometimes flimsy or, some have complained, non-existent evidence?

Idiot in Chief answer:
I'm confident that our search will yield that which I strongly believe, that Saddam had a weapons program.

So it's back to "program" again.

10. Bucke....
Please don't be discouraged. The lack of response isn't so much a matter of people being jaded or not caring. It's more like, we KNOW this. It ain't news. These clowns say one thing and then recant it 6 months later while claiming they've been consistent all along. They've been doing that for years and years, no one has anything new to say.

I hear ya. It's bullshit. It's utter bullshit. But it ain't exactly NEW bullshit so pardon me if I don't have a moment of lucidity. That happened long ago.

Keep up the good fight mate.

11. The sad thing is the flag waving fools have no idea who Perle is
Edited on Thu Jul-31-03 09:00 AM by Woodstock
I know the media has been slack. I mean, for a majority of the people to be polled as believing Sadaam and 9/11 are linked, that's largely a media failure (and also a failure of weak kneed Dems like Daschle and Gephardt, our fearful leaders, who were too busy playing NICE - after all, Daschle says change doesn't come all at once, so we must be good little Democrats and work with the pResident.)

But to not know Iraq was a game to benefit Halliburton, to not know about "Total Information Awareness" (now called "Terrorist Information Awareness" much in the same vein "Give Our Trees to the Loggers in Exchange for Bush Votes" was called "Healthy Forrest Initiative," "No Child Without Lots of Money Gets Anything" was called "No Child Left Behind," "Clear Pass To Pollute" was called "Clear Skies Initiative," the "Give Back to the Wealthy" tax cut bill was scammed as a "Job Creation" bill - and even when it turned out to be clearly an "Overseas Job Creation" bill to still not care, ...), to not care the the pResident lied to them, to not care that the rest of the world out of sheer foolishness on our part can't stand the sight of us, to not know about administration cronies gambling on terror to make "fun money" for the wealthy, to not know about Perle and his backroom deals to use their sons and daughters as toy soldiers to make yet more money for them, I just don't know - how on earth can you get them to put their remote controls down long enough to use that stuff stuck up in their heads that passes for a brain?

Sorry, I know we're supposed to be nice to the sheeple, but sometimes, it's a bit too hard. Raah raah raah. God bless the USA. Take me for a ride. PLEASE.
