The Public's Outrage and Against Bush Adminstratios 9/11 Cover-up Grows
<<White House Deceit Covered Up 9/11 Truths
Newsday -August 28, 2003

By Marie Cocco
The thing you have to remember, when you see in black and white the hogwash the Bush White House forced the Environmental Protection Agency to tell the people of Lower Manhattan after their neighborhood was attacked by terrorists, is that the scandal did not begin with fibbing about whether the air was safe to breathe.

No. The cornerstone of the edifice of deception about the events of Sept. 11, 2001, was laid that morning aboard Air Force One. "No warnings," White House spokesman Ari Fleischer declared when asked if the president had been shown a sign that terrorists might strike with catastrophic fury.

We know now there were months of warnings, fearful cries rising up from the intelligence agencies that a horror could unfold. The FBI had provided the White House with analysis of "patterns of activity consistent with preparations for hijackings or other types of attacks," according to the joint congressional committee that probed intelligence failures before 9/11.

How do you stack this up alongside the asthma cases and the chronic coughs and the nagging concern of people who don't know if cancer is in their family's future because asbestos, or some other toxin that spewed from Ground Zero, still is embedded in their homes and schools and in the office carpet?>>

I wonder if all the Bush Administration's 9/11 cover-ups are finally breaking down...

What do YOU think.

1. I think most people are satisfied with "evildoers who hate freedom"

And don't really think there is a need to ask a lot of questions.

They seem to prefer chanting "USA, USA" and throwing paper cups of slurpee remnants from the windows of their Jeep Cherokees at beige pedestrians.

Makes them feel they're doing their part.

2. I do think...
...and so do all of the people on DU. What we have to do is convince the majority of people who don't think to please do so. It doesn't take genius to see what is happening to this country with the brain dead parakeet and his flock in charge.

3. If the outrage is growing
it is growing neither fast enough nor hot enough.

4. An interesting e-mail I received from the author
I e-mailed her to say that, though I felt bad about the distorted EPA report, I felt worse that the GOP has the balls to stage their convention there. Here's what she wrote back:

Believe me, with the exeption of Michael bloomberg and George Pataki, I
don't know any New Yorkers who want the convention in NYC. Taxi drivers, I
suppose, and restaurant owners. Protest-permit applications are going to
be the boom business for the NYPD.

5. you brought back lots of memories
Marie is great about writing back.......Ellis Hennican is too.

I lived thu the Chicago Riots in 68. I was teaching in the ghetto with the highest crime rate in Chicago at the time. The people in the neighborhood warned us that the riots were coming and were there to protect us since we were white, but all those in the neighborhood knew us and wouldn't harm us. They were concerned that those coming in from other parts of Chicago might harm us. Even the black druggist was hung from his business sign in front of his store. He was gouging the people with his prices, They cut him time just in time.

Hey , Flash , you brought back lots of memories.

Oh hell. Ellis Hennican actually *calls* back.
I've written to him three times. Twice he's called
on the phone the next day to discuss the subject,
or just to say he appreciated the thought that
went into the letter. He listens to points being
made, acts like a member of the public is a valuable
resource to tap into, and - as the icing on the cake -
is a helluva lotta fun to talk to. Spirited and witty.

Ellis is one of a kind.
I wonder what his long distance bills are like
I live in Seattle and he calls from New York.
I'm 3000 miles away but he cares what I think.

And nice email you got from Marie Cocco FlashHarry.
NY Newsday sure has a some accessible columnists.
They go to great effort to communicate with their readers.
Very impressive.

9. This is pissing me off. New Yawkers get tax breaks from "The Chosen
One" and they have the balls to bitch about air quality? Don't these ungrateful people realize we're "at war"? What good is asbestos-free air to breath when Saddam has a mushroom cloud above NYC, launched on 45 min. notice from a 50 mile range model airplane loaded with an aluminum tube centrifuge produced nuke made from Nigerian yellowcake? I really should be on the damn radio!:nuke:
