Fascism Anyone? That Bush=Nazi thing(again)

>>For the purpose of this perspective, I will consider the following regimes: Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, Franco’s Spain, Salazar’s Portugal, Papadopoulos’s Greece, Pinochet’s Chile, and Suharto’s Indonesia. To be sure, they constitute a mixed bag of national identities, cultures, developmental levels, and history. But they all followed the fascist or protofascist model in obtaining, expanding, and maintaining power.

>>Analysis of these seven regimes reveals fourteen common threads that link them in recognizable patterns of national behavior and abuse of power. These basic characteristics are more prevalent and intense in some regimes than in others, but they all share at least some level of similarity.

1. Powerful and continuing expressions of nationalism
2. Disdain for the importance of human rights
3. Identification of enemies/scapegoats as a unifying cause.
4. The supremacy of the military/avid militarism.
5. Rampant sexism
6. A controlled mass media
7. Obsession with national security.
8. Religion and ruling elite tied together
9. Power of corporations protected
10. Power of labor suppressed or eliminated.
11. Disdain and suppression of intellectuals and the arts
12. Obsession with crime and punishment.
13. Rampant cronyism and corruption.
14. Fraudulent elections.<<

As a Burrdisher(uk citizen) looking from the outside in,it is clear you've got a fascist for a President!
And thankfully, that Kerry has the "right stuff",and is a winner.
So this is the most important election for decades.

1. That's really frightening
thanks for sharing. For each one of the points on the list, I can come up with some examples or say, "yes, that's true for this administration." The administration doesn't quite control all of the media, but it is amazing how quickly negative stories disappear from the headlines. People are more upset about Dan Rather and his forged documents regarding TANG than they are about George Bush and his forged documents regarding uranium.

Sometimes, I think the whole world has gone mad and then I realize, no it's just the Republicans!

because it is not good news for the planet when the
richest country and only superpower decides to act like a totalitarian regime.

5. Winning the election will only be the first step.
There will be a lot of mopping up to do. One huge task will be deprogramming a large segment of the American people who have been misled and even brain washed into thinking all liberals are evil. The conservative "think" tanks have a lot to answer for.

Our Constitution is a liberal document, written by liberals to promote freedom and opportunity for all Americans. To be anti-liberal is to be anti-American. The corporations and the religious zealots would like a compliant population so they can complete their takeover of our branches of government. They pull the chains of ill informed people and fabricate wedge issues to keep us divided, angry, and filled with distrust and hate.

I want my country back. Are there any sane conservatives who still recognize they, as well as we, are from the same liberal tradition? They must recognize they are keeping company with corporate fascists who are manipulating our government and controlling our country. Our democratic values and the future of the American people are at great risk.

My signature images prove it. I've seen that list before, and it's really scary. I've pointed it out to alot of my friends and their jaws always drop.

10. Republicans = ????
Since the 2000 election I tend to look at Republicans differently.

Not all members of the Nazi party in Germany knew or understood what was transpiring. Not all Republicans understand what is occurring in 21st century America. At some point we will need to listen to world opinion, they will need to speak very clearly for this to happen.

14. This article has been on the INTERNET for about a year.
Each time I read it I can see that the Bush administration is continually to solidify it's identity as being a totally fascists government,no longer any doubt in any reasonable person's mind.
