NEW YORK — President Bush claimed his nomination for a second term Thursday, saying he offers "steady, consistent, principled leadership" and promising to transform the nation's tax, health-care and pension systems while displaying strength abroad.
Speaking on the fourth and final night of the Republican National Convention, Bush sketched out a domestic agenda that would remake the nation's "most fundamental systems" in keeping with changes that have made workers and families more mobile. He also outlined a foreign policy based around "the transformational power of liberty." (Related: Text of Bush's speech| Video)
