Hitler lived to 73 in South America, book claims
The West Australian
October 18, 2011, 7:50 am

A new book claims Adolf Hitler faked his death and escaped to Argentina with Eva Braun in 1945.

Grey Wolf: The Escape of Adolf by British authors Gerrard Williams and Simon Dunstan says Hitler and Braun had two daughters before Hitler died in 1962 at the age of 73.

"They refute the widely accepted view that the Fuhrer shot himself in his Berlin bunker on April 30, 1945, and Braun committed suicide by taking cyanide," Britain's The Daily Mail reported.

"Instead, they claim, there is 'overwhelming evidence' to suggest that the couple escaped at the end of the Second World War for a new life in a Nazi-controlled enclave in Fascist Argentina."

"The book also claims American intelligence officials were complicit in the escape, in return for access to war technology developed by the Nazis.

1. And I can claim there's "overwhelming evidence" that we never landed on the moon.
That doesn't make it true.

16. Why would it matter so much to you that there be no question. You protest too much.
I'm not even sure how the Jews would react considering Hitler was part Jewish.

Not everyone is going to know, remember or personally vet the story of Hitler's last minutes. Lighten up.

19. Because when denial of objective fact is allowed to enter the public realm unchallenged...
...it is a detriment to rational and reality-based society.

When people say that Hitler lived to 73, or global warming doesn't exist, or the world is run by the Bilderbergs, or we didn't land on them moon, or the World Trade Center was brought down by mini-nukes, and any of those those things are considered valid opinions even though they are factually wrong, it hurts everyone and it makes reality-based discussion and understanding more difficult for everyone. These things and the people who repeat them do not deserve any credibility whatsoever. To paraphrase Isaac Asimov, it's based on the idea that democracy means "my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."

21. A good list. Is the official story on JFK a fact to you?
Or, could it have been a conspiracy. Even some ardent anti-conspiratorial types put JFKs murder into special class.

I have to admit that the anti-moon landing people bug me, but then, I occasionally work for NASA and have an engineering degree so I know it is beyond plausible -- for me. But, knowing what they think, no matter how obtuse, lets me know with whom I am speaking. Sometimes they will change that opinion after talking with me, or they say they do.

22. I'm a firm believer in objective, scientific fact.
The science on the Kennedy assassination strongly supports the view that there was one shooter, firing from the warehouse window, and that that person was Oswald. That includes scientific evidence that wouldn't have been able to be faked with 1960s technology. Whether one believes that someone else encouraged him or put him up to it, that's something science is silent on. But I'm distrustful of the instinct to assign such things to a conspiracy or a larger plot.

There's a human psychological need to have parity in how we view things--that we want to believe there's symmetry in the world. It's why there are so relatively few and fringe conspiracy theories about, for instance, the holocaust. There's symmetry there: the most enormous crime, perpetrated by the most enormous criminals. Just as firmly, there's a desire to believe that someone as important as Kennedy couldn't simply have been shot by a lone nut, that it couldn't be that small and petty. To some extent, people find such theories--even when not supported by fact--comforting in some strange way.

23. Interesting. And, interesting use of fact as singular.
As though there is only one way to see a complex situation.

I need to take a step further back.

What do you think of calling fact a recalled belief?

And, one more step.

How many worlds are there in a fish bowl of ten fish?

If you don't mind.

33. I did, and JFK was shot from behind.
Edited on Tue Oct-18-11 02:35 PM by caseymoz
The film supports no other answer. If he had been shot from the front, that trunk would have been too slick for Jackie Kennedy to crawl on, due to the gore and chud propelled out of the back of his head. (As it was, she retrieved a stray piece that shattered upward, but the trunk was dry.) The gore and chud comes out of the front of his head, meaning he was shot from behind. The propulsion of his body backward was due to Newton's Law: For every action there's an equal and opposite reaction, and it was probably increased by spasms a shot in the head will produce.

Before you write back, I must inform you that nothing you say will change my mind; I 100 percent guarantee that. Don't presume there's just one or two details I don't know that will enlighten me. I've seen all the evidence. Oswald shot Kennedy from behind, and he acted alone.

57. What objective fact exists to prove Hitler died in Berlin?
It was a time of complete and utter chaos in a largely destroyed city. The supposed facts were gathered under Stalin's rule by the NKVD and were kept completely secret.

The Russians supposedly found his grave after also finding a dead man that looked like Hitler a day or 2 before. Hmmm. Given that all of the supposed evidence was gathered by the Russian secret police, and that Stalin wanted a certain answer as to whether Hitler was dead or alive, its not surprising that he was told that Hitler was dead. What Stalin wanted to hear was exactly what people told him.

Supposedly Hitler and Eva committed suicide in the bunker and then their bodies were burned/buried outside(different accounts). No Russians saw that happen. Do you really believe that the Germans who were in the bunker would have ratted out Hitler, their Fuhrer to the Russians or anyone else?

The Manhattan project was kept secret for years with thousands of workers, how hard is it to believe that Hitlers fate was really an unknown?

I don't know what the truth is but to claim that there is actual proof that Hitler died in Berlin just doesn't hold up.

From one article I found about it, "In the mid-1990’s, the Russian authorities claim that they exhumed the body of Hitler from the parade ground in Magdeburg, burned it and then flushed the ashes into the town’s sewage system." Yeah, that sort of announcement is certainly believable. The dog ate my homework too. Proof? no.

You are claiming a whole lot in the rest of your post. You have no proof that the Bilderberger group doesn't run the world and neither do I. What facts do you have to prove that they don't in some way run the world? I have no proof either way.

There are many unanswered questions about 911, you don't have the answers and neither do I but a lot of Engineers, architects and pilots are speaking out about that, some of what they say is very convincing.

Lumping Global warming in here is a red herring as its backed up by 1000's of scientists, and every one of us can see that the weather is changing in predictable ways.

You seem very uncomfortable with people questioning things that you have been told are settled facts, when there is no conclusive proof to back up these facts.

Do you think that the Gulf of Tonkin incident actually happened as well? Or that the Israelis didn't attack the Liberty?

A closed mind is a controlled mind, and since the birth of PR under Bernaise the US government has lead the world in dis-information campaigns. That's why they have psy-ops units. The Corporations do it very well too.

One does not "deserve" credibility, one either has credibility based on actual, provable facts or one does not. Most of the items you mention have no associated provable facts as to what happened one way or the other, just stories and opinions that were passed along and filtered through middlemen.

Your guesses are as good as mine or anyone elses, but they are still guesses based on vague information. Wanting certainty does not mean that these things are, in fact, certain.

63. I'm in total agreement with The Wraith
Survival of democracy - in the long term - depends on the ability of voters to reason critically. Sadly, critical thinking isn't taught in our schools, and consequently politicians rely on appeals to emotion to get elected.

Also sadly, one more extreme conspiracy theory has entered the public consciousness!

By the way, I will admit that some 'conspiracy theories' may deserve a second look; not this one!

34. There's a difference between inquiry and confusion.

It's not the fact that it's questioned that bothers me. It's when confused, Hollywood-first-draft questions are asked about settled fact, and then how they're marketed for exploitation of people's fears.

Most of the time, things are exactly what they appear to be, and maybe nobody questioned them for sixty-five years because it was a no-brainer.

... in fact, I believe it very likely he offed himself per the historical record....

But.... It wouldn't surprise me if he went through some elaborate ruse/plan to save his own hide in the event he needed an "exit strategy."

Watch Hitler's Bodyguard on The Military Channel.

The guy had "thousands and thousands of guards and ancillary staff" to keep himself safe. He had one of the first ejection seats which consisted of a big reclining chair contraption with a trap door and parachute mechanism in the event his plane was shot down.

He certainly was a wiley cat to survive so many assassination attempts. There was a LOT of planning that went in to keep him alive. AND a lot of luck.

Who would have said what they were told to say. Those who supposedly found his body were the NKVD. These are not reliable witnesses.

Exactly what evidence exists to prove that Hitler died in Berlin? All the evidence was held by the NKVD, the precursor to the KGB. These are your trusted sources?

The fact that the earth was round was once widely accepted as complete horseshit so saying that means nothing.

I have no idea about what really happened to him as there is no reliable information pertaining to what happened to him.

So many of the posters say they are sure of what happened but they weren't there and there is no proof of what actually happened. Its scary to see so many closed minds on DU.

I don't know what happened and the only people who did know are now dead.

61. Because they still believe in the lies of the government.
Poorly educated and undiscerning. Taught to accept the propaganda from the fascists that rule this land. Such a populace is exactly how we end up with a country torn apart with the rich denigrating the citizens of the country while "our leaders" stand idly by and let it happen. Because they know the majority of the people will believe anything they say. No matter how incredulous, they'll rationalize it somehow to try to maintain "The Lie." To keep the malls open and the football games playing, they'll overlook any truth.

It's how we've found ourselves in the situation we're witnessing now. Because few are prepared to own this truth. And owning it is absolutely necessary if we are to ever change things. But it's a bit too strong for most. It's so much easier to remain the victim, instead of questioning the bullshit we've be weaned upon. And the leaders of this fascist state we live in know this, and exploit it.

- Pity really.....

69. That is so true.
The only certainty is uncertainty.

Our medical director says this every now and again in reference to medical knowledge and the fact that statistical medicine recommendations break down when applied at the individual level.

In this case there is evidence that this happened and evidence that it didn't, therefor each theory has some level of validity. But the bottom line is that we don't know definitively.

And I must say that I wouldn't put something like this past the spooks.

Joining the new Eugenics supporters with the originators of Eugenics, the Americans. Those Germans make for great intelligence and torture technique experts. Handy. Bush Senior must have known a bunch of them as head of the CIA. Hmm.

Lovely how the US government took all of the Japanese medical experimentation unit 733s data in hand in exchange for not prosecuting the "doctors" who tortured the Chinese prisoners to death.

People can't stop believing in the rightness of the US government no matter what the evidence is, American exceptionalism is alive and well.

And how it isnt even a conspiracy theory; it is life in the U.S.

Prescott bush finances nazis; tries to coup roosevelt. Gets away with it and stays powerful. His son gets elected. His sons son gets elected after.

In that election, bush jr. should have lost. But lo, his very own brother ran the state that would have otherwise killed his election. So voting places in democratic precincts get shut down, and..... the rest is history.

We may not see it as such now, but I do not doubt that when the history books are being made a 100 years from now that this will not be overlooked.

At best you occupied half of his country and the Russians occupied the other half and got at least half the technology. Its not like any of the advancing allies had a map that pointed out all of the secret sites.

The underground mountain workshops for instance were just discovered. Who's to say what was where? There were also sites in Poland and other occupied nations.

Nothing about this is as certain as some posters here seem to think it is.

The Nazis destroyed at least some of their sites and would have likely held onto plans and documents. They flooded a massive underground research facility and to this day no one knows what was going on inside it.

Much of this is all a big question mark. Add in the chaos at the end of the war and operation paperclip and the question mark gets even bigger.

There's only one "exceptionalist" here, if exceptionally stupid, arrogant and small-minded counts.

Are you saying that you have never, ever, in talking about World War II referred to the US or the allies as "we?" Never? It's idiomatic, not said as a point of pride.

Besides, your ancestors and relatives were there, and since what they did made you what you are, and you live your life in the world they shaped, maybe "we" shouldn't be so high minded about cutting ties with them rhetorically? By claiming to distance yourself from privilege, maybe it's really the responsibility you're avoiding.

. . . fractal antenna technology? Or the secret to field orange algorithms? Or the secret for weaponizing anthrax? And how much about US geography do you think he knows? You think he could lead them to a site in West Virginia that he's never visited, when the landscape around it is scorched? You think he could find it unmarked on a map?

Hitler was an artist by trade, and he failed his art entrance exam. Twice. How hard is an art exam. He was not going to be a technological treasure trove. No way, shape, or form. Period.

I know "I" didn't take the country, and you must know I didn't unless you're an idiot. So, don't jump on something common and rhetorical like the idiomatic use of the word "we," and give me history lessons about the Soviets taking half the country (which they didn't. They occupied about a third. My nitpick in return.)

The Nazis were not ahead of the allies in technology. They had some inventions, we (the allies in case you go eye-gougingly stupid again) had some others.

Edited on Sat Oct-22-11 04:11 AM by caseymoz
. . . fractal antenna technology? Or the secret to field orange algorithms? Or the secret for weaponizing anthrax? And how much about US geography do you think he knows? You think he could lead them to a site in West Virginia that he's never visited, when the landscape around it is scorched? You think he could find it unmarked on a map?

Hitler was an artist by trade, and he failed his art entrance exam. Twice. How hard is an art exam? He was not going to be a technological treasure trove. No way, shape, or form. Period.

I know "I" didn't take the country, and you must know I didn't unless you're an idiot. So, don't jump on something common and rhetorical like the idiomatic use of the word "we," and give me history lessons about the Soviets taking half the country (which they didn't. They occupied about a third. My nitpick in return.)

The Nazis were not ahead of the allies in technology. They had some inventions, we (the allies in case you go eye-gougingly stupid again) had some others.

18. Judi Lynn
Judi Lynn

By 1945, the fycial and pcyical stature of Adolf Hitler was in a bad shape, how he should have survived all the years to 1962, after what the surviviors have told of a man who was utterly "destroyed" by illness, old age and on the brink of never ending neverous breakdown is something this "autor" absolutely neglegt I guess..

Even with the help of the US, Hitler would never have managed to get past Berlin, wy by April 30 was totaly insircled, in fact was more or less occupied by the soviet forces, who I doubtfull would have given Hitler a free pass to South America..

And as other have pointed out, by the time Hitler killed himself - of was leaving for Argentina, most of Germany was allready occupied, and whatever knowlegde Germany was in position of, was alleredy in the hands of the allied powers as it was.. Or on the brink of beeing in the hands of the allied powers.. Hitler might had have a chance if he in 1943 had given himself up for the allied forces, but by 1945, no one wanted to give him a free pass.. They wanted to end the war, as fast as posible, and finaly..

This autor, as many before him and posible many after him, are just a joke who are out getting money from peopole who dosen't know better.. And he wil posible get a lot of money FROM peopole who dosent know better too...

But it IS rumored, that Hitler indeed fathered a boy, and a girl, who disapear from history never to be seen again... Maybe it was for the best becouse to be children of a demon like Hitler would not be easy to bear for his childrens I guess... Hopfully, they survived, get into another familie, and lived out their life, oblevius to the fact that they are in familiy with Hitler..

25. I'm a "truther"
And I don't believe this. It would have been real hard for him to escape. And I thought Hitler had Syphilis, and was showing signs of Parkinson's disease, and he was hooked on drugs. If he had escaped, he would have been in bad shape, and probably wouldn't have lived that long. Too many hands on witnesses for this. They had a body, unlike 9/11 that had no plane seats ANYWHERE in the debris. 800 seats disappear, but DNA is claimed, but what do I know.

Sorry, we're seriously over-thinking this one. Some things are as simple as they looked at the time, including the holocaust, which is also denied.

According to Cornelius Ryan in "The Last Battle," they had a little more than eye-witness accounts. They had the dental assistant to Hitler make a drawing of Der Fuhrer's teeth, which had a lot of implements. They matched.

May I ask? Where are his daughters? Not that it would help much unless we had DNA evidence.

38. Agreed.

But on your first point, I alluded to that. But at least they could go to the first step of credibility: produce the most tangible you've got of your claim. That would be those sisters. Then one may look for a way to verify it.

46. No point perhaps for people viewing the info,

but there's a point for the people making the claim, and not just in the commercial sense, but if you're making that specific assertion that Hitler had daughters, for credibility reasons. I realize it has privacy issues. (Who would want to openly own claim to be Hitler's offspring? Though Mussolini's and Stalin's daughters did.) I mean, you think people want to show you their films of Bigfoot when they look shaky and blurry and when the creatures looks like a guy in a carnival suit? No, but if it's all they got . . .

Helped their post-war careers in science, industry and finance.

I thought it was obvious. When it wasn't, I decided to gather up a coupla links:

Know your BFEE: Nazis couldn’t win WWII, so they backed Bushes.
