Flood Victims Getting Fed Up With Congress
(Want more of this? Keep voting republican. gd)

TUNKHANNOCK, Pa. — Standing in the living room of their house, now full of mud, slime and debris, Helen and Peter Kelly cannot believe that Congress is bickering over disaster aid to people like them.

The roaring waters of the Susquehanna River burst into their home more than two weeks ago. “Water — you work with it every day, and then it destroys your whole life,” Mrs. Kelly said.

Her husband, still looking shell-shocked, said: “We lost everything. Stove, washer, dryer, TV. Hot water heater, clothes, dishes, refrigerator. Everything, just gone.”

The Kellys also lost confidence in government and politicians.

1. They will keep voting republican until the Dems learn how to focus this anger on republicans.
Notice: "The Kellys also lost confidence in government and politicians."

Not: "lost confidence in Republicans."

2. When they don't see the dems fighting for them
it will be government and politicians, in their mind.

While many here did not like Alan Grayson or Anthony Weiner, they kept the dems in the news, with a fighting stance. When a person's life is/has fallen apart, people are not looking for an Alan Colmes, they are looking for an Alan Grayson, someone who is fighting for them, and let's them know about it. It doesn't matter whether or not that politician succeeds or not, just the idea that there is some one in their corner is comforting.

4. They can't see what the media doesn't show and what the Dems don't have the numbers for in Congress.

6. That is an excuse.
Really. Who's fault is it if you don't know who represents your district? Let's take a look at it from another view. What if these were representatives from a company, and the customers don't know who their salesman is, or what product line he/she represents. Who's fault is it now?

These reps only make themselves known when election time comes around and their hand is out. Period.

Now, I had a rep, James Walsh, a republican, he took every opportunity to promote himself, all year long. I bet that if you came to my district, half the people would say James Walsh still represents them, even though he retired in 2008, after 20 years. Every time one of his programs or pork or whatever was offered to people, the person handling the situation, always said "courtesy of Congressman James T. Walsh", every time. He was at every building dedication, every popular event, he made sure he was buds with all the local media. This guy seemed to be everywhere. He never really had a serious opponent until 2004. In 2006, the race was even closer, so close that he knew it was time to retire. We got a dem in 2008, and in 2010, we got a repub again. You see while Walsh was in office, things seemed to be doing okay. The dem was swept in on Obama's coattails and by 2010, the people decided to try the repub again to see if the good times would come back. What will happen in 2012, is any one's guess.

3. The Media is doing what they are paid to do, if they don't care to lose their corporate jobs.
