Get his base back behind him, and hope that the independents are too scared by Rick Perry. I have to observe that he started to show a spine sometime around the point where Perry topped the Rethuglican polls.

We've got to hope that it's enough to win with. Even then, we may have a toothless second term with both houses of Congress against us. I expect if that happens, the President will dig out that veto pen, and use it often.

13. not interested in debating about the meaning of his actions. I only want to urge people to send

encouragement to Obama for his taking a stand with his deficit reduction plan. I think he deserves an email of praise/encouragement for this. Even if there is doubt as to how much affect your email will have, it's worth it just on the chance that it will have some affect (of course, a large number need to be sent if there is any chance of having an affect. That's the whole idea).
