Deputies: Mentally disabled man forced to stand in ant beds

A group home employee is accused of forcing a mentally disabled man to stand barefoot in an ant bed and let ants bite him as punishment.

Quentin Amos, 21, is charged with abuse of a disabled adult after Hillsborough County Sheriff's officials said the group home's manager noticed severe bites on a resident's legs.

The 21-year-old disabled man had many bites on his feet, legs and arms.

Investigators said the victim said Amos forced him to stand in an ant bed as punishment for stealing money and not doing his chores.

If found guilty Amos should be stripped naked, smeared with honey and staked out over a fire ant hill
this would forgo any jail time or fine ......... that would only be fair

4. Why the honey? That's just a distraction for meat-eaters.

We don't have that kind of justice system, for better or worse.

But a sane justice system, of the sort that we have, would convict this person of such a crime that they would never again be able to be employed in a role of responsibility for people or money again. This is someone who needs to spend the rest of their working life, to retirement or death, in a dancing pancake costume.

Their caregivers are not vetted, not investigated as to whether they should be caring for the disabled. They pay them a low wage and set up the system for abuse. It's disgusting that this is what "The Greatest Nation on Earth" has become.
