10 Things Conservatives Don’t Want You To Know About Ronald Reagan
http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2011/02/05/142288/reagan-centennial/

1. Reagan was a serial tax raiser.
2. Reagan nearly tripled the federal budget deficit.
3. Unemployment soared after Reagan’s 1981 tax cuts.
4. Reagan grew the size of the federal government tremendously.
5. Reagan did little to fight a woman’s right to choose.
6. Reagan was a “bellicose peacenik.”
7. Reagan gave amnesty to 3 million undocumented immigrants.
8. Reagan illegally funneled weapons to Iran.
9. Reagan vetoed a comprehensive anti-Apartheid act.
10. Reagan helped create the Taliban and Osama Bin Laden.

..see link for full elaboration on each of these points.

1. Good list...
I think it is true of the rank and file Republican leaders, these items make them uncomfortable. I think the regular blue collar conservatives don't have a clue and even if they did, they wouldn't really grasp the significance of the list.

4. #11 Reagan "Cut & Ran" in Lebanon when the Marine Barracks was bombed in 1983.
He pulled out ALL of the American Troops.
He left behind ZERO "Residual Non-Combat Troops".
When Reagan Brought the Troops HOME,
he REALLY brought them home.

That is the ONLY thing I admire about him.
He was smart enough to NOT waste American Soldiers in countries where they were not wanted.
Good for him.

Cut & Run Ronnie,
I salute you!
:patriot:

6. reagan was never told of the cia`s war in afganistan.
he was finally told of the war when the cia needed the stingers to arm the afghans. the us army did`t want the stingers in the afghan `s hands because they were afraid of the russians getting them. the stringers finally drove out the russians from afghanistan.

the film "charlie wilson`s war" is actually true to charlie wilson`s own statements about the afghan war in the 80`s.
