First the tears, now the anger: Pakistanis burn U.S. flags as backlash over Bin Laden's death grows
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1383011/Osama-Bin-Laden-dead-Pakistanis-burn-US-flags-backlash-grows.html

These were the angry scenes across Pakistan today as Muslims staged protests against the killing of Al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden.

Hundreds of people marched through Multan, burning U.S. flags and waving placards as they warned the terrorist's death could produce many more radical figures to take his place.

It comes after crowds of weeping mourners were pictured offering funeral prayers for the Al Qaeda mastermind widely blamed for thousands of deaths at 9/11.

They will heap further pressure on the British government to justify the £650million aid package sent to a country where so many appear to hate us.

1. As I have said so often of late, "Fuck Em."
They will be lucky if we let them stay a country after their crime of sheltering the pigfucker. I say we arm India to the teeth and tell Pakistan to shut the fuck up forever.

14. Sure let's have a nuclear war between the two.
Especially since China is a ally of Pakistan. That should be real fun.

19. What about the US sheltered war criminals?
Would you support a foreign country doing a similar operation on US soil? We have a number of war criminals much worse than Osama. Would you support an aggressive war against the US for such behaviors, or is this type of justice only for countries with brown people in them?

3. Sounds like our Tea Party wackos to me.
I guess a certain percentage of people everywhere lionize evil people and demonize the good. For far-right Americans, it's Sarah Palin; for radical Muslims it's OBL.

6. So . . . uh . . . I guess fuck them.
It's not like we accidentally killed some wedding party.

He's a terrorist, there is no doubt he's responsible for the deaths of thousands of Americans.

We should be rioting and protesting that these bastards sheltered him for so long. They have nothing to be angry over and should in fact be feeling a great deal of shame right now.

7. related article: Southeast Asia Islamists hail bin Laden a martyr
http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/05/04/us-binladen-asia-idUSTRE74330B20110504

(Reuters) - Indonesian Islamists hailed Osama bin Laden as a martyr on Wednesday, illustrating sympathy for the al Qaeda leader killed by U.S. forces among Southeast Asian militant groups, one of which predicted a major reprisal attack.

Indonesia and the Philippines, both home to terror groups with links to al Qaeda, have heightened security after the killing of bin Laden on Monday, with Jakarta increasing police presence ahead of an annual meeting of regional leaders at the weekend.

"If it is true that was him, it was bin Laden who won, he has had that victory he dreamt of, that is to be shot dead as a martyr by his enemy," said Son Hadi, spokesman for Jema'ah Ansharut Tauhid, an above-ground Islamist group founded by firebrand cleric Abu Bakar Bashir.

"The impact of his demise is that Osama will be appreciated with prayers, support and some hateful comments against the U.S.," he said. "I am certain that the U.S. will experience a major disaster."

8. We are so stuck. We literally cannot afford for Pakistan to be taken over
by Muslim extremists. Not after we allowed them have nuclear arms. This is one government we must prop up.

9. I think you're right.
Yes, they *probably* sheltered OBL but a Al-Qaeda/America-hating government is undoubtedly worse. I think we're stuck with our foreign aid levels. To cut off the foreign aid would probably shove them in the wrong direction.

10. Just leave
IMO too many people in this country live in a state of fear! I don't buy the (they have nukes so we have to stay there). India and China will ensure that those nukes are not used. Two reasons we will not leave are the oil-gas pipeline through Afghanistan and the recently discovered 1 trillion $ deposit of Lithium. There are also huge deposits of other valuable minerals. Whats the old saying "follow the money". :smoke:

11. "Widely blamed for 9/11" but never convicted.
Just saying. We even convicted Timothy McVeigh. But extrajudicial assassinations are now just a new power of the Unitary Executive (aka Imperial Presidency).

Almost 10 years and not a single grand jury was convened in Re: bin Laden and 9/11. We did it for the '98 embassy bombing and the USS Cole, but for some reason we just didn't give a damn about proving bin Laden was behind 9/11. It puzzles me to this day.

15. Why? Does it puzzle you that the defensive linemen try to tackle the

16. Have you ever considered that much of the evidence was classified?
or that we didn't want him to know exactly what we knew? We found him after years of hard work and secrecy.

20.  Simplistic answers
to complex problems. We as a nation need to be fair in our dealings with all nations instead of playing favorites. We treat nations with black, brown, yellow and other hues as second class friends while we treat Europeans and the Israelis as best buddies. The world has changed the old colonial countries want to be treated with respect and we refuse to understand that. The so called third world countries distrust and some hate us because we treat them as less deserving than others and rightfully so.Until we treat all with equal respect we will continue to be seen as the enemy of some countries, especially the Arabs/Muslims countries.

18. OBL only had an 18% approval rating in Pakistan.
So these protests are run by their true extremists. I forget the source of 18%.
