Teahadist calls union people scum!

You know an anti-union speech is bad when the folks screaming “No!” and “Stop!” at the speaker are the same people rallying against unions.

The speaker in question was Gregory Golyansky, vice president of the Colorado Union of Taxpayers, who joined others on the west sidewalk at the Capitol to counter a rally of solidarity with Wisconsin workers.

“I was born in the Soviet Union so I know what they want,” Golyansky said. “I’ve seen it before.”

So far, so good. People cheered and waved flags and signs.

“These people are storm troopers of communism. We must defeat them. I never realized there was that much scum on government payrolls … ,” Golynasky continued.

At that, some anti-union folks booed.

2. If he doesn't like America
he can go back to Russia, I'm sure he'd love Putin's policies.

4. We have these people here in Australia too.
They truly believe that union=socialism=communism, and hate unions with a passion.

They never stop to think that the majority of us, working in offices, enjoy benefits that were originally won for their members by unions - minimum wages, annual leave payments, health and safety measures, lunch breaks, sick leave, compassionate leave, pensions, and much more; in short, everything that makes working life tolerable and not a misery for the great majority.

It's a sad fact that most employers, left to their own devices, would exploit workers to the hilt, as they did before the union movement began. We all owe the unions a debt, whether or not we are card-carrying members.
