Sculpture unveiled to honour John Lennon
http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/feedarticle/9304226

A sculpture has been unveiled to celebrate the life of John Lennon, on what would have been the music legend's 70th birthday.

The monument designed to promote world peace was revealed at a ceremony in the late Beatle's home town of Liverpool by his first wife Cynthia and their son Julian.

They thanked the hundreds of people who gathered in the city centre's Chavasse Park and told them to celebrate Lennon's life.

Julian, 47, said to the crowd: "We come here with our hearts to honour Dad and to pray for peace and say "thank you" to each and every one of you, and everybody involved in the celebrations today.

1. Not to make light of our
Wall on the Mall in D.C. but, it's a striking contrast of art.

And I hope one day we'll see more of these.

Happy Bithday, John.

3. This is so beautiful - and what wonderful pics. What stopped me short
even more than this being John's 70th birthday, is that Julian is 47!

What a beautiful symbol of peace. Happy Birthday, John.

9. You may say, I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday, you'll join us
Then the World will be as one

Rest In Peace John, you earned it.

This is my 1000th post
