Harry Reid's Senate: Where Progressive Legislation Goes to Die
Article by Paul Hogarth

#snip#

"Since 2006, Demorats have netted 14 seats in the Senate - and the newer Senators are keenly aware that the netroots helped get them there. Unlike Harry Reid and the other more senior Democrats, they are more willing to challenge the status quo and be combative against Republican obstructionism. Sherrod Brown, Bernie Sanders, Jon Tester, Jim Webb, Sheldon Whitehouse, Jeff Merkley, Kay Hagan, Mark and Tom Udall, Claire McCaskill and Al Franken are the 'Coalition of the Impatient,' and they need reinforcements."

1. Essential reading.
1) Letting the Senate off the hook by blaming everything on Obama is self-destructive for Democrats.

2) Progressives should be focused on changing the Senate in 2010.

3. Absolutely.
I thought he would be an entertaining moderate who didn't rock the boat. He's more than I expected.
