George W. Bush: Screwup-in-Chief, 2001-2008 (Bruce Bartlett, former Reagen/Bush1 advisor)
http://capitalgainsandgames.com/blog/bruce-bartlett/1865/george-w-bush-screwup-chief-2001-2008?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+CapitalGainsAndGames+%28Capital+Gains+and+Games+-+Wall+Street%2C+Washington%2C+and+Everything+in+Between%29

Over the weekend Republicans unveiled their brilliant new political strategy strategy: the George W. Bush years were the good old days and we should go back to them. A stupider strategy is hard to imagine. The Bush years were an unmitigated disaster. Here is a quick list of his screw-ups off the top of my head in no particular order. Readers are encouraged to add others in the comments.

Thinking that Iraqis would welcome liberation and immediately embrace Western-style democracy, and failing to manage the occupation of Iraq properly. (How can people defend Bush on the basis that he kept us safe after 9/11 without also blaming him for 9/11? If he had the power to keep us safe after 9/11 then why didn’t he keep us safe on 9/11?)

Bullying the intelligence community into giving him the justification to start a war in Iraq over non-existent WMDs.

Ramming through a massive new, unfunded Medicare drug benefit when the system was already broke.

Rushing to enact the hugely expensive Sarbanes-Oxley Act in reaction to the Enron scandal even though there was no evidence that it would have prevented it from happening.

The total failure to deal with Katrina.

Nominating the totally unqualified Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court and appointing other nincompoops to high level positions solely on the basis of slavish loyalty.

. . . much more at link above

2. The fact that Republicans wants to go back to the Bush Years
only show how stupid these Morons are. The worst part is that their brainwashed and gullible followers will believe them.

3. Yes there will be those who buy it
But the good part is that they will be a very small percent of the American people! It's pretty obvious right now that all the republicans have as a "PLAN" right now is to try and convince as many as they can that "THEY" have the answers to our problems, that "THEY" our your only hope, and as proof they point back to the Bush years! No facts on "HOW" they will fix things, no information on what they would cut to balance the budget, no information on anything, just "TRUST" us and we will take you back to the "good old days" or George W. Bush!

Well if that's all they got they are even dumber than I thought, and that's pretty dumb! Yes, they will get a few seats in both houses, but they won't get anything close to what they would need to "take" over either house, and if democrats can get out this great new plan they have, a return to the Bush years, along with all the comments they have been making about apologizing to BP, wanting taxpayers to "HELP" BP pay the clean up bill, wanting to keep the tax cuts for the wealthy and not have pay for them, but vote NO on an extension for the unemployed, etc. republicans could lose some of their seats in congress. While many on the right would never vote for a democrat, they might vote for some teabagger candidate, or as they did in 2008, just not vote period!

Seeing as most of them are brainwashed by the Likes of Coulter, Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Ingraham, and the rest of Faux News, they will believe everything that Faux News put out no matters how ridiculous it is.

5. I was thinking something similar:
Yeah, but will fox news run with it? (Of course I already know the answer.)
